Took a trip up to Kibby mtn wind farm today. Explored some side trails off Goldbrook rd. Anyone know if you can make it from there to Jackman on logging roads? I want to give it a shot sometime in the near future.

Was planning on camping off the St. John river but blew a oil seal on my icons. They've been installed for 4 months.

First post. Figured I'd put it here. I'm in Rockland, I've got an 2008 Tacoma.

Not much of a build but I have a 3inch toytec lift with 265/75R16s.

And I drive this on my days off lol.

Went into the North woods and found a lot of awesome trails and logging roads. I'm from the Wells area and love to camp but don't want to drive 3.5 hours to get to remote spots every weekend, does anyone know of more southern logging area's or remote places to roam?

The western mountains have got a fair amount of dirt roads and interesting sights, and they're closer to Wells than going to the far north. Once you get past Rumford you start seeing more dirt and gravel and less pavement. A lot of them cross over into NH, too.
You're still looking at a couple of hours to get there, but it'd knock a pretty significant amount of travel time off for you.

The guys from Northeast Overland can probably give you a lot more info than I can.
@MtnClimber can point you in the right direction, if he still hangs out on here.

I just moved to Rockland from the Biddeford area. One place I went to down your way a lot when I lived there was Middle Road up in Standish. There are some cool ATV trails up there I used to go on and some great places to target shoot. There were some gates but most were open. I spent a lot of time up there.

I'm new to Maine here and was just looking up past Rumford and saw a road called Bunker pond road. Has any one gone down that road? Looks like it turns into a logging road with a lot of trails off of it. I like to do some off reading but don't want to kill my truck. I have a 2016 with a lift but stock tires on her still.

When I was up in Jackman we saw 12-15 raptors going down a logging road. I guess they start in New York and drive to northern Maine using mostly dirt roads. It sounds like a blast. It would be fun to do something like that with tacos

Fun, that would be frigging awesome, better put a few days aside for that trip. I once drove from Philly to New Hampshire on rt 202 in a old tercel. Long ass drive, but did it cause it was snowing and I didn't want to deal with the Highway as I was in no hurry.
