ive got the Yakima ones and they do just fine. are you talking about the slots that the racks go into or the racks themselves?

 

both? Like there's no pre drilled holes or anything on top of mine, so have no slots.

Like I said mine is a long bed so defiantly a different mold.

I don't see why it would spread. Seems that's all downward force.

 

a simple pulley on the ceiling and a boat winch seems like a solid choice. shouldn't be too difficult to set up either.

 

I want a prinsu on my access cab, will have to drill..... but why not

 

that's what im afraid of doing too.

I think it just gets transferred to the bed rails and ends up pushing the bed rails out at the tailgate since theres no support holding the tops of the rails together like at the front of the bed.
