Nah man just a difference of opinions and a healthy discussion which is how everyone learns from everyone else.

No matter the brand you'll love the RTT life. I've only had mine for about a month and a half and have taken it out twice already (still waiting on the temps to drop some more) but I already love it so much more than a ground tent.

I love my Tepui and have seen and been inside CVTs. If I would do it again, I think I would get CVT and save on some cash.

Those are just my .02 cents

A number of brands offer the overhang pattern tent like you have (including Tepui) and most include the annex as well. You are probably right about the raw materials not appearing to be too much different from a "base model" when compared to another brand. Appearance doesn't tell the whole truth about the quality of the materials however. The other thing to look for is the quality of construction, like the seams and stitching, the taping of the seams etc. Many of the cheaper brands will not have as high of quality in their stitching and other areas and that can lead to premature failure or separation of seams etc.
Quality control is a big factor. As for the tents coming out of China, I believe the Tepui and CVT are the clear leaders in terms of quality.
Customer service is a lost skill and not many companies have it anymore. Doesn't matter where you are getting the good service, if the service is good and the company is standing behind their products and being responsive to customers, that's a good thing for everyone.

Which tepui do you have and which CVT would you replace it with?

I know. I said which one would you replace it with? It's also important to know which one you have currently as a point of comparison.

I like my I guess you could call it "cookie cutter" tent since they haven't been around real long.

ok. Do you mind sharing what the differences are that would make you go with a different tent than what you have now? It's a good conversation that I think many would appreciate, myself included since it's good to get feedback for Tepui (good or bad).

reason is because I find myself getting stuff from the back seat on the driver's side and the cover gets in the way.
