Like the title, has anyone not had issues with their 2016 Taco? What do you all think is the ratio of problematic Tacomas to great Tacomas? I realize it's one good word to 10/12 bad words, but yeah.

Not an owner yet however I am looking more and more into '16/'17 - I like the idea of the 2017 TRD offroad DCSB as we have not had them in Canada and that is ultimately my preferred set-up.

    Thanks guys!

A search will find a few threads asking exactly the same question.

    Predict same answers forthcoming. ;)

I wasn't sure how I should word it in the search and therefore found nothing - any link would be appreciated.

Zero here. I don't consider howling holes a big issue though like some others do all day all year with posts about it.

That should be enough, but there are more.

Avid fans on both sides of the fence, owners all.

Then there is folks like me who don't want one for other reasons. :D

I read this website and it makes me think I bought the biggest piece of shit ever made. Then I drive it, and I mean I drive the shit out of this truck (5,500 miles and I'm 6 weeks in), and I have not remotely had a single issue, or think the transmission is struggling, or think the factory suspension sucks, or think it sounds like a tin can when driving through rain, or think the factory speakers suck, and I can go on and on and on.

Honestly, I just think this website is full of whiney bitches that just want to complain, similar to the citizens of this country.

I purchased a 2016 TRD Sport end of April. I have had absolutely NO issues with it and love my truck! I've got almost 9,000 miles on it so far!

Ok here is the deal have had truck since mid oct. The truck has just hit 15 000 miles . I have driven it towing, 4x4ing not hard done a ton of shit to it in and out. I have not had a thing wrong with it only oil getting dirty. Sorry to all the haters of the third gen but thats the truth. On the other hand I am sorry that some trucks had had issues big or small but things will work out for all. Good luck to all !

No problems over 3 months and 8000 miles. I can hear the diff howl very faintly if I really try at 55mph but it doesn't bother me and there's supposedly a "fix" coming.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I come here every day because I want to see mods, get advice, learn about hacks and fixes, etc. Inevitably I leave feeling like I got suckered by Toyota for buying a 2016 even though I've had zero problems.

But then I go out on the weekends and take my truck off roading, camping with the family, use it to tow our pop up, etc. And I love it. I've learned that I just need to be more selective on which TW threads I choose to click on.

    Nope..I had some minor annoyances.
Zerk fittings no grease. Went under the truck and 5min later all were filled
Some howling sounds from front. $1.60 at Lowes for some nylon plugs for lower control arms fixed
Ubolts not torqued all the way. 5min fixed that up
I had low trans fluid of 2qt. transmission didnt shift great before the TSB but I drove the truck in S5 mode and drove perfectly fine till the TSB came out.
so all these things seem to be the most things people on here seem to cry relentlessly about but none of them are anything that takes more then a few mins to fix. Except for the trans fluid.
