They are galvanized. Just can't stand the look of them. So going black.

 

what did you prime with?

 

I'm looking to paint the fender flares on the truck to match

Ehhhh rustoleum 2 in 1 ,filler and sandable

 

you want to do it your self? your going to have to scuff them and use an adhesion promoter for plastic. honestly with a truck that pretty i'd suggest taking to a body shop. you'll get a better product

 

not going to say it won't work and i hope it does but we usually scuff the surface and spray with a light coat of etching primer first it bites into the coating and helps adhesion hopefully you'll be good

 

I was thinking that as well

 

I sanded them prior with some 320 to scuff it up. Then wiped down with acetone. So I'm hoping it turns out well

 

Might need a certified painter

 

i'm not suggesting you couldn't do a nice job on your own but you can't beat the environment in a booth hell i still can get a little dust in a job even in a booth. will be worse spraying plastik as it creates a static charge and with plastic no way to ground it. can they be orderd from toyota prepainted?

 

They can but off the TRD sports I believe

 

No they come black and will need to be painted painted from what I have been told and see online...

 

obviously dave knows i'd listen to him he's at the least certifiable
