OK a) I will file a complaint with corporate over the hole that I heard howl one time and post about it here 1000's of times every week, or b) I have better things to do with my time. I choose b.
I don't really think it is a problem as is being pushed around here. Its more like an annoyance.
If that were the case all cars would have 1000's of problems, annoyances, squeaks , rattles etc.

    None...yet!
Haters gonna hate and when you're the leader, there's a lot of haters. 50% of the market is Tacomas. And Tacoma World is the nexus, so it's an easy target...

Reading this shit on here, I would think I bought a different truck. I came here looking for the information regarding the things to look out for, and have not seen one thing yet on my truck. Somehow my tranny works, the hood doesn't vibrate, the CPS hasn't farted out, the rear diff is quiet, and it's just a great truck and gets 20.5 MPG too.

There's a lot of people worth ignoring on Tacoma world. Keep that in mind. I mean A LOT!

If you want one, buy one. Best compact/midsize you can buy except for the Hilux...

Like someone said earlier, people love to try to take down number one.
New Taco is one badass looking truck.

maybe if this site wasnt full of people crying over every little thing and trying to find the most minute thing to bitch about non stop over the new generation or the HUGE amount of previous gen owners who just like to start crap cause they think they are the best thing ever. maybe these wouldnt happen. Owning the truck and coming to this site less frequently really makes owning it more enjoyable as you dont have to read all the crying and bitching. How does half the people on this site be able to walk out the door everyday and not have shoes filled with all the sand coming out of their vaginas.

I'll be honest, I wouldn't think anything was an issue if I didn't read about things to pay attention to on here.

@Aussiek2000 has it as his sig from another thread

asking here and you'll have a lot of people saying they have problems. After all you only hear about problems.
I've private messaged at least 8 different members all canadians and none have had issues (I was more so concerned with the Canadian market ones since that's what I'm buying).
But in plenty of threads, other members are reporting no significant issues besides the howling/whistling LCA, which was just holes needing to be plugged.

EDIT: oh and I try extra hard to get beside every 3rd gen I see on the road and get beside them by a red light, all the 12+(doesn't seem like there are as many here) I've asked said no problems and they love the new truck.

Agreed. I skip most threads and read the rare ones that are informative. I stopped scanning the "what have you done to your 3rd gen today" thread because it's turned into a bitch fest also. I enjoy my truck a lot more because of that.

I will admit I do open some threads for the entertainment value.

I'm loving mine after 5800 km in two months.

What I can't understand is the number of guys here who evidently hate their Tacoma so much yet still own it.

If you hate something so much why are you still an owner?

The thread asked if I had problems and I said no. Now I get accused of intentionally minimizing serious problems ? :annoyed::facepalm:
HTF am I intentionally minimizing, by stating the truth ?

Purchased a 16 tacoma TRD Off Road in December of last year. It's my DD with 15,000 miles on it. I have heard the howling but only when there is strong cross winds (problem, no; annoying, kinda). Roof does sound like a tin can but don't be a pussy about it...get some dynomat and work on your truck like a man! Sluggish pickup; a little but I bought a V6 4x4 with a 3.5 liter engine designed for going off road...not racing Mexican beaters out of the strip mall. Is the 6.2 worth it in a raptor? Yes but it's still a ford and your gay (though it's close to being ford's only decent addition to their vehicle lineup).

Test drive it for yourself instead of taking people's opinions. TW has some great people on here with knowledge, and a fair share of constant whining assholes. It it's a forum page...what do you expect.

Got my truck in June and it has 8000km on it. I will admit that yes the transmission hunts for gears during the "learning period". Any issues? None. Squeaky leafs? hell yes but not an issue.

Love mine. No issues that have bothered me enough to do anything about them. Lots of winey 'men' on here.

have 4,500 mile on mine with "no" issues. I had the whistling control arm, but that was a 2 dollar fix IF I wanted to spend the money on the parts at lowes. to me, that's not a problem. that's a truck. Love this thing.

I think it's actually the opposite and this site tends to magnify issues and make them seem much more widespread than they actually are.

Case in point: U-bolt torque and lubing the U-joints. Most Tacoma owners aren't going to address this simply because they aren't aware of it. I bet money that the vast majority of the Tacoma owners won't ever do this and won't ever have any problems. Do you think the U-joints are going to fail on 90% of the Tacomas out there?

There's a lot of guys on here who know their shit and may be a little more obsessive about their vehicles. They're more apt to expect perfection and classify any imperfection as a major flaw.

One man may want to sell his truck due to a slight vibration in the steering wheel at 2000RPM, where another man might not even notice it.

All the bitching on here I'm sure has cost Toyota several sales. I almost backed out of my purchase after reading this site back in April/May and I'm so glad I didn't. This is the best vehicle I've ever owned for sure!

I own 2 tacomas and have had 0 problems with the sr. The trd just had tranz topped off and the wind noise from doorjam. But love both tacomas and would not get rid of ether one. I have 12,000 on the trd and 29,000 on the sr.

Mine had low tranny fluid and I still have the rumble strip vibe. I'll fix the vibe myself, not waiting for Toyota to figure it out, it's
been an issue for many years.
