I bought the new totally redesigned F150 in 1997. It was the "Mustang with the bed" version. It was actually the best Ford I ever owned and I have owned a lot. Sold it with 190k and all I ever did was replace plugs at 100.

It will be a mini van with the bed cut out. The Bronco will be a window van. That way they don't hurt their precious F150 sales. They dumped the Ranger to boost the F150 they won't go backwards now. They need the Ranger/Bronco to get higher mileage so they can still sell big trucks and vans. So don't expect much truck in the new Ranger/Bronco. It will be just like the Tacoma a watered down version of a former self with a higher tech package and pretty lipstick. It's the face of the future, get use to it.

The Ranger will compete with a Dressed out Tacoma. It will likely have the 2.7 Ecoboost mated to a multi-speed automatic. They will sell out very quickly.

I totally agree that they don't want to hurt their sales and all the R & D from F150, but thats where the genius marketers and egineers come into play. And let's face it - Ford has some of the best.
You don't make any product #1 for 40 years by sheer quality alone.
I think it's going to be a very very serious contender for Taco... they will not come to market with average shit - they may not come to market at all. If and when they come, they could do something crazy and revolutionary (ie -Ecoboost for full size, ie high strength aluminum) and come to the market with say a hybrid drivetrain, and or a diesel option.
They have tech across their line to steal from.

I guess you are one of the lucky ones.
I have purchase my new tacoma in April 2016 out of the 5 months I have owned my car. Over 5 months was in the dealership. Window Noise recall, Paint defect. Took me 3 months to get that taken care of with toyota. and the worst one of all. I was driving with my 3 year old going 45 mph when the engine died on me! restarted after 10 minutes drove 3 blocks! While the car only had 4,300 miles. HAHA owned my car for 4 months . Thats the 3rd recall I had on my truck for which I choose to pay 35K. Got such a fluff answer from the dealer. Had the car towed to the dealership. I had traded in my 2004 Audi A4 and that had way less problems. I think I had the unlocked car in the world.

Definatley Lucky Bought my 5 months ago one month the truck was in service 1. Paint Defect 2. Window noise defect. 3. Sensor Defect ( While driving with my 3 year old 45mph the engine shut off ) Happened 4 times after 10 minutes the car started again drove 2 blocks and died!
I have the worst luck. I submitted so many claims with Toyota. I have been dreaming 5 years about this truck finally got it " I guess not all dreams come true"

Most are Annoying I agree. When I bought my truck 5 months ago and up tot today has been in service over a month, Filed complaints with toyota.
    1. Windshield recall on the noise.
    2. Pain defect ( Rust on my roof after 3 weeks )
    3. While Driving with my son (3Y) going 45 mph the engine shuts off ( Thats a huge safety concern for me and my son.)

I wanted this car for the past 5 years. I guess I got the unlucky model!
Submitted so many claims with the dealership and Toyota corporate. My VIN# Rap sheet is so long! I have been in and out of the dealer every 3 weeks.

Yes they did fix it. I still have a safety concern in the back of my head. I love toyota as a car this one is just not one of their best.
They fixed it switched out sensors. But still choosing to spend 35K and a truck and while having 4,500 miles on my truck and having the engine die out on my while driving with my son is a downer.
    Not cool TOYOTA!
