Kalama is near Portland Or. Google says its about 120 miles, ~2.5 hrs driving.

 

Found something i'm considering buying out that way. Not sure if i will yet, but was just curious how far you were.

I am on the road 5 days a week in rural kansas and nebraska.... they don't exist out here.

 

Victor or Alpine are your best bets, they're both about 40 minutes away. Prices are going up on both though...last I heard the 2bedroom townhouse I used to rent in Jackson is $2400/mo now. To rent in Jackson figure on spending 50% of your take home pay. They call it a hole for a reason though, once you get in it, you can't get out.
