I think the pop sound is the amp powering up. I had a receiver do that. I made mine stupid now. It just receiver to 4 speakers

 

But never made that noise before. You think since this guy removed that blue thing, that's why it makes that pop noise now?

 

I don't know what that part is. You'd have to look for a number and Google it. Most likely the face putting out that sound. I think I had a sony or dual make that sound. It's almost like plugging in your audio cable to the aux jack sound while in aux mode. If that is the sound you are talking about

 

Is there a fuse in that clear case with tape on it?

It's a high to low converter to run a sub on a stock receiver that doesn't have a sub output. The audio guy is right that you don't need that. All it does is cut out the high frequency tones so it doesn't hurt your sub.

 

Ok. Any idea why the popping all of a sudden I got the in dash and he took that out? It bugs me so much.

Ok. It's does it when I turn off the truck.

 

Could be a bad ground with the new head unit.
Or as you said a cheap head unit all together.
Also might want to check the amp ground.
The problem occurred when the head was switched out.
I would say an insufficient ground would more likely be your problem, what's the maker of the head unit?

Maybe. Could be a factor. I still think it's the new receiver. A few do that sound because I think some of the components inside stay powered for a bit or have a weird shut down.
