Has anybody replaced the bulbs in a Tacoma 4 door above the rear window ? Or are they already led bulbs in them ? I know it is a pain to get off, as it is bolted from the inside of the truck.. Who was the idiot who changed from the two screws that use to hole it on !

 

No hyperflash on any. The only issue I had is with the brake lights. They won't stay in the socket too securely. I had each one fall out of the socket after some off roading. I wrapped some electrical tap around the base to keep that from happening again.

 

Going to give them a try, less the headlights. We'll see how they turn out/hold up.

 

I got the low beams and the fogs from your Amazon link. The color is great. nice white hue. However the light output absolutely sucks. forced to put the stock bulbs back in. I cant see crap with these, They have a very dull dim light to them when driving especially out of city limits where street lights are non existent.

 

Got my license plate, interior and back up lights in.. My four brake and turn bulbs are coming.. While at Walmart yesterday I saw a led kit for bed light set up.. Has eight led assemblies with nine LEDs each. Wired them into the running lights. You can't see them on when it is dark out due to the bed cover..but open it up, and I can finally see inside by bed at night !

 

I would like to replace the low beams with something that would be brighter and and have longer reach than the stock bulbs. As I read about the LEDs I see that the reviews here (and the reviews in Amazon by the users of the recommended lights here) state that the lights are brighter, but do not illuminate as far as the OEM halogen bulbs. Is this true of ALL LEDs? The only one that has a more focused beam and appears to be longer (or at least the reviews do not mention they are shorter, as most others do) is the Philips. Is this correct? If not, which halogen bulbs can I buy that would be an improvement from the stock lights? Do I need to go HIDs? Do the HIDs work well with the stock light fixtures?

 

I have OPT7's and they definately do not project as far down road, but are really close. Close enough for me to keep using them. Morimoto 2Strokes are 30% brighter. I arrived at this percentage by looking up the type of CREE LED they each use and compared their max lumens. I've been told by another member here that has had both that they may be a tad brighter, but not easily noticeable. As for the Phillips, I've read up on them. They may be good but I'm, personally, not willing to spend the money for them to test them out. $160 for a pair is a bit steep for taking a chance. I don't know if anyone else on here has given them a shot.

Thanks for the input. Maybe someone out there has had some experience with the Philips. What I have read is that they are more "focused" and therefore project light further.

 

These lights don't look like they are side entry. Are we sure these are the correct ones. At $120 I just want to make sure. Have a 2016 TRD Off Road Super Cab.

Not completely sure what you mean here. For the 2strokes, though, you will need to loosen the headlight and tilt it forward in order to get them in. This process is not required for the OPT7's.

 

Replace the h11 with h9 bulbs. $30 for twice the light output. Minor trimming to the bulb itself is needed to fit in the harness.

 

Any specific brand for the H9? This will replace the low beams?
As for trimming I'm assuming you mean the tabs that go into the slots? Sorry for all the questions but this sounds like something I'd like to try, i just don't want to blind oncoming traffic either though.

I replaced a few bulbs with Diode LEDs and they are all do the trick. My only problem was the dome light which didn't fit and I really had to squeeze it in to make it work. kinda messed up the housing. Other than that they seem like good quality replacements.
I'll post pics soon.
