So I am replacing my rear u joint, at the rear third member flange and I went to oreilly they looked up the part and I was on my way, when I get home I find its not the right size, so I go back with the u joint I took out and the guy at the desk was very confused saying he has never seen a u joint with two different lengths across the "X" He then proceeded to pull out about 10-12 other ujoints from the back parts shelf and none were the right size. Does anyone have a part # for this? I have searched the forum and haven't come up with anyone that ran into this problem, just want to have the right part # for this odd shaped u joint.

Just went outside and took out middle u joint in rear driveshaft to see if I could confirm they are all the same size, the rear has one side that is shorter..... here is a picture... same on one axis and shorter on the other (horizontal in pic):

It is shorter on that one side because the yoke from the rear-most flange that connects to the differential is smaller as seen in this pic:

    Is this not normal?

I updated original post with more pictures, they are definitely different sizes, is this not normal?

dafuq. They should all be the same size!

Is the one you are replacing an "original" to the best of your knowledge. Reason i ask is it is not, originals would have zerks in one of the end caps.

Glad Im not the only one thinking this... It very well could be un-original, but the only reason I noticed it was different is because I tried installing the "normal size" one and it would not fit in the rear yoke.

---I just bought the truck a couple weeks ago, 130k miles, Im the third owner, maintenance history was blurry so I am going through everything

Good morning. I'm willing to bet your Driveshaft is factory and the yoke flange has been replaced. Compare your Ujonit to these measurments, I bet one side (driveshaft side) matches.

Yes the driveshaft side is same as factory, the yoke from the rear end is smaller, I am off to try and find a 5001905 yoke today... Any idea if there are aftermarket ones that may be easier to source? I have been chasing a rear end wine, kind of interesting to run into this, although I highly doubt the are correlated.

Again thank you so much for the input. Was getting very confused, wonder why someone would have done this?
