Very curious as I hear conflicting stories and want honest opinions. I know the hitachis and linear coils are on the sport and progressive coils and billstein 4600 on the off-road but what is the ride quality like on and off-road??? I personally own a sport I find it okay on road a little bouncy and rough on bad terrain especially off road gets bone jarring, is the off-road that much better off road and what about normal street driving??

OR is more compliant on the rough stuff , more articulation from the suspension means it's softer, to be able to do more rock work and deal with the bad off road stuff...
On the road it is bouncy a bit and it sways a little bit, but not too bad to take.

I have a 2011 Sport. That being said I recently replaced my stock sport shocks AND struts with ones off a 2015 Offroad. The offroad is much more forgiving in the rough stuff, and to me has much less body roll on road. Night and day difference.

Off-Road has a cushier tire profile on 16" wheels also for the softer ride I believe. Mine rides like a 4 runner I suppose. Not very jarring. I'm changing the shocks out soon to the Bilstein 6112/5160 combo anyways.

Sport is bouncy like a dump truck on rough pavement or off road and too stiff for my liking

Sport is great on smooth roads, but irregularities give it hell. Icon's are coming

Dents in roof from poorly loaded canoe. Broken side mirror from blown transfer truck tire. Scuffed up front bumper from thinking I was still in a corolla. Graham cracker embedded upholstery from a crazy kid.
I have a sport and it is great on my short interstate commute. However, I'm thinking about upgrading the suspension to something softer soon for my limited dirt road/off road adventures.

OR is much softer. Off road it eats up the bumps. On road it can be a little bouncy when the road gets bumpy. Also has considerable body roll when taking turns.
The sport I test drove had a stiffer suspension and less body roll.

Sports far too bouncy stock and or is softer but do yourself a favor and buy whichever truck you like best. Shocks are easily changed and almost anything aftermarket will beat oem

Hello guys, just a short question: the Sport and Limited trim are similar about suspension and driving behavior? Thanks. Limited owner opinion will be appreciate.

Interesting that there are conflicting opinions regarding amount of on-road body roll in the OR vs Sport.

That's why I started this thread wanted more opinions I know the sport has slightly bigger sway bar so body roll is little less.

I own the sport but was considering swapping out shocks and coils for an off-road set someone is selling cheap so I had a less bouncy softer ride on rough terrain

Afiak the sway bars are the same from or to sport. The difference comes in the shock/spring combo. Maybe not even the springs, because i can say the stock hitachi shocks are junk on the sport. Even the cheapest aftermarket chinese shocks offer smoother spring control. Take out a rear shock and just compress it with your hands. Its very easy which isnt necessarily bad, my issue is the odd feeling when cycling it in your hands. You can feel the oil and air slosh creating a "dead spot" that isnt a dead spot in the shock. No bueno

FWIW I thought the body roll was excessive when I test drove a '16 TRD Sport. As in, "oh hell no" for me. My point of comparison is my 1st gen with a worn out OME 881/socks and AAL setup.

Just choose whichever option you like most and you'll upgrade suspension at another time guaranteed lol
