The vet lets you stay as long as you need after. They gave us a private room with our own exit so we didnt have to see anyone else.

I put down my dog Jack August 25 2013 and every time that year I still cry because I miss that furry bastard. I get teary eyed just looking at his pictures sometimes. He was my first dog when I moved out, the best dog I've ever owned, and one Bad Ass MoFo.

Well now am all fucking sad and bummed out.......

There is never an REI coupon laying around when you need one.

Not sure for here, but my father had to do it with his dog last year in home but that was In New Hampshire. Only thing I can say is no matter how much it hurts to see him be put down, be there in the room for him as it's just as scary for him not knowing what's going on. Sorry for the news though preparing/loosing a loved furmember of the family is always hard.

The private exit would be nice. When I had to walk back out with the leash and collar it was so difficult to keep myself together passing everyone with the dogs in the waiting room.

That would help. Have to go buy a new air mattress for camping. Can't find the coleman one I have had for ten years, my wife things it died on our last trip, but that was a while ago and I have slept and drank since then... so maybe she is right.

The REI full size mattress is $119, anything off would help that.

    Happy wife....

Yah, I had to stop reading posts after a few, always gets me when I look over on the other side of the couch and see my 14 year old fur girl laying there.

Sorry to hear this dude, but yes we have done the at home process and it was very peaceful.

We had a lab that was very diabetic and my folks have used a mobile vet for years so it was a pretty simple process.

I thought it was nice to be able to sit in an environment (our living room) where you knew she was comfortable as she went. We also did the pain killer relaxant process Colby talked about but I'm not 100% sure what it was.

that sucks man. Sorry you have to go through this. I say take him outside for a day somewhere even if you have to carry him and it sucks. Just go outside, give him some good food treats, show him you love him still and then after his awesome day, it will be time to say goodbye. His last day will be fun one full of family and food!
