Are you talking about the bumps in the for sale section for 450?

Shut up Lovin! Gotta spend the money while I've got it! Everything else is relatively cheap after this is done.

I'd at least like a transfer case and diff skid at the least!

Sounds like the fire roads in the mountains surrounding the Santa Clarita Valley where I grew up. Much, much underage partying and shenanigans were had out there...up toward the old 'Nike' base where the decommissioned military base and missle silo is at the very top (Cold War era shit, was cool as hell). Place is closed off for good now, probably thanks to us as kids lol. Used to just be an old fence around it that was easy to get through, they beefed it up though and put a fire station near it.

I have :D she just lets me buy whatever I want. That might change if/when we move in together. But I've got another year of living solo to buy all the truck stuff I "need"!

Well you need sliders, armor, an RTT, bumpers, a winch, big tires and some other expensive goodies :D

Tires are coming the day before or after the Kings go on. Sliders will be done as soon as Ryan is back in action. And that will probably be it for a bit. I'll always be on the lookout for skids and bumpers though. A winch will happen in a few years as it's not really needed yet. And the RTT will happen a few years after that when I decide to get bed racks. For now I'm also looking for a softtopper, mainly so I can take naps at work

I'd be down to pay 300 for one seeing as new they're $600+ But I probably won't be buying anything now since I just dropped all that money on Kings. Sliders will be my only exception. Although any valet shifts I work, I'll be taking the tip money from those and getting more lights. I want to get ambers and then rear facing lights as well so when ass holes tailgate me at night they get the sun in their eyes

I have one of those inflatable pads that goes either inside or under your sleeping bag, works great either in a tent or in the bed of the truck.

Wait, you guys mean to tell me I can have a good time without a winch, trailer, rtt, refrigerator, bed slide, maxtrax, and arb awnings?

I'm curious, (I did the same but I'm curious what your reasons are on the subject) what are your reasons for going with sliders first before skids? True, they protect expensive rocker panels and doors and when damaged they're an eye sore but you can still get off the trail and home if all that's damaged are rocker panels.

Now that I think about it I was, in my opinion, foolish and for the most part lucky for going with sliders before skids on a daily driver. Had I mangled my rockers id be super bummed. Had I mangled my transfer case or punctured my gas tank in the middle of no where I would be fucked. Thoughts? This is just for conversation purposes. Im not saying in no way either way is the correct way.

You bring up a good point, Greg. I was so eager to get sliders first thing because I found myself coming real close on a number of occasions to hitting my rocker panels out on a trail. That being said, I've tagged my rear diff and slammed down hard on my front stock skid more times than I can count. I also came down hard on my transfer case once on the MJT the first time I did that trail, and had the previous owner not randomly installed a Skidrow t-case skid there, I would have been stranded out in the middle of nowhere.

I do think a t-case skid is a good thing to get and to make a priority, due to how exposed and susceptible it is....if you hit that just right then you're toast.

Thanks for your inputs. Going forward if someone asks I'm going to probably say to grab skids first and then sliders. Sliders protect your rockers and aid in bouncing out and away from rock (especially with kickouts) but it's the under guts which will get them home. Especially a daily driver.
