People around here know that I'm into Toyota 4x4's so word of mouth helps too. Price of scrap metal is down right now so that's how I got this 4runner so cheap. It would've been a shame if the po would've sold it for scrap, it's a clean truck. When the engine seized the po used the bumper to hook the tow strap, don't ask me why. Check out the price on the window sticker for this 96, and that was 20 years ago!

Hello! Just wanted to send a quick update. I veered off a tad and landed back in the drives seat of another 4Runner. I found it at an awesome price and couldn't pass it by. A few mods are done ... and a few more to go. Here's how it sits today.

Looks good. I like my 4cyl '04 taco 4x4 for its intended purpose. (Fuel efficient vehicle for my job in the woods) but in no way is it better than my '16 4R TE

I got it for the 30 imperial mpg combined driving. But if you drive less than I do, the v6 would be the better choice.

Nice new 4Runner OP! Can I ask why you got rid of the original one?

Then jump in a tundra or ram Hemi or 6.2l gmc and you'll feel the same way about a v6.

I hear you though, my 2.7l is by far the most gutless vehicle I have ever owned.
