Accidents rarely happen... Crashes happen all the time.

But yes, snowbird season is the booming season for body shops, and hospitals in fl.

Haha yes, wrong side of the road drivers ALL the time. I'm not talking confusing downtown one way streets, I'm talking your regular Alameda... Right turns from the left turn lane on Broadway. Just normal business.

Moving was finished earlier... Can't wait to wake up to the sounds of nature instead of 6am for a dog being locked out on the patio!

DC only so it will not weld aluminum. Unless you run it DC negative with 100% helium gas on really thick aluminum and you won't get any cleaning action like you would with AC.

I tried it at work a couple years ago. Great penetration (that's what she said) but not a "normal" aluminum weld most are used to seeing.

Older diesels will do it but not a lot of smoke...now when you start adding tunes, bigger injectors and cold air intake/bigger turbo/bigger exhaust which those increase air flow. But when you see a shit ton of black smoke when they take off that's just fuel that's isn't getting burned and its real bad for The truck meaning that the injectors are too big, that's when you see a super thick/fldarck smoke from takeoff or when they gun it while driving. Some diesel owners are just douchebag like that too.

Congrats. Always wanted to be further up in the hills (or think I do). However, depending on just how far you went up there I give it two weeks before that 'nature' you wake up to is a rutting elk bugle at 4:30am instead of a dog at 6. :D

Not too far up. There are elk on the property so it's a possibility. But nature sounds are much better than animal abuse/improper training any hour of the day.

Hellloooo Colorado people!!! (see what I did there?) I could really use your help. I have been saving my pennies and will finally have enough to lift my taco in the next month or two. I'm hoping to take advantage of black friday sales coming up. I've spent a lot of time thinking about my future lift and what components best strike a balance with my budget, intended use, and my desire to only do this once. Here is a list of what I am thinking of purchasing. I dont want to be like the 100s of people on the main page asking about which lift is best etc., I am more asking for help to make sure I am not missing anything that I will need and help with determining whether there will be any conflicts between components I have chosen. With that being said, if you do have an opinion as to why something I chose is garbage feel free to let me know. I am planning to spend a nice chunk of change so I'd really like to get this right the first time around. Thanks for all your help. I am basically trying to piece together a lift kit similar to the ICON stage 3 kit with some slight modifications to better suit my needs.

Front coilovers: ICON 2.5" extended travel
Rear shocks: ICON remote reservoir 0-3" lift
UCAs: SPC (I chose these for the adjustability and for the fact that they are a fraction of the price of the ICON UCAs included in the typical stage 3 kit.)
Rear springs: Dakars w/new bushings and u-bolts (I chose these for their budget price and the fact that they are a full leaf pack rather than just an AAL included in the typical stage 3 kit.)

Some of my questions are as follows:
1.) Will I need extended brake lines for the front, rear, or both?
2.) Any other components that will absolutely be NEEDED?
3.) Any potential conflicts with these components?

If it makes a difference, I plan to run 255/85/16 ST Maxx tires on stock TRD OR rims and the only weight I typically have on a daily basis in my bed is a LEER topper and a stroller for the baby. Thanks in advance for your help!

Congrats on finally getting to upgrade your suspension!

Looks pretty much complete and you should have no compatibility issues with those components. You shouldn't need new brake lines for the front. The rears are a maybe, I had to with my AP standard leafs. The only add on I would recommend is new bumps to get rid of the harsh stockers. I went with Wheelers Super Bumps and they were noticably more soft.

Those will be nice and shinny.
Rear shocks: ICON remote reservoir 0-3" lift
Possibilty of doing bilstien 5125s and shock tower relocate? You get more travle and they are cheaper then the icons. I can understand the icons in the front and all but for the rear the amount of travel it can do and the fact that its still a truck i dont see the need for huge expensive shocks unless you are going to be the next #BIGBALLSRAY at moab next year.... Simply put your not pushing it hard enough to notice a "superior dampening" in that case king makes some sweet looking tripple bypass shocks:D
UCAs: SPC (I chose these for the adjustability and for the fact that they are a fraction of the price of the ICON UCAs included in the typical stage 3 kit.)
Have you looked at rokmen's? Or any of the uni ball uppers? I know tons of people have the spc uppers for their adjustability and what not but here are my two ideas why i dont like them 1) for the wheeling that we did when i was ifs it seemed like i always got my alignment jacked up. I feel that with these just being a bolt in a slot that you could have a greater possibility of really screwing it up or the nut working loose(i know all of them could work loose but these sitting in the channel just scare me for some reason ) 2) looking at all the other options for uppers why are these guys the only ones that can be adjusted in that manner for caster? There is a reason why some dont allow you to agust caster from the top. I just dont think i would ever use the feature of adjusting it forward to clear tires from rubbing while effecting caster and your steering.

Rear springs: Dakars w/new bushings and u-bolts (I chose these for their budget price and the fact that they are a full leaf pack rather than just an AAL included in the typical stage 3 kit.)
    *cough* alcan *cough*

Jk those will be perfect for you.

Some of my questions are as follows:
1.) Will I need extended brake lines for the front, rear, or both?
I would add a +4 to the rear but dont think the front is needed.
2.) Any other components that will absolutely be NEEDED?
Bump stops. MAKE SURE YOUR FLIP KIT WILL WORK WITH YOUR BUMP STOPS. I have seen a few now get new plates to fit their bumps because the current ones would not work. I would also say mount the bumps to the axle and not the frame just because it hits nicer. I can get wheelers super bumps or timbrin bumps from wheelers as well.

Not sure I want to go with a shock tower relocate at this time but thanks for the suggestion. I think I'd rather put that money towards sliders at this point. Gotta protect those rocker panels!!!!

Well damn, now I got 2 separate suggestions for a shock tower relocate. Does that provide more up travel or down travel? It seems like droop would be limited by the springs if I am thinking about it correctly and that up travel would be limited by the bump stops between the frame and axle. What am I missing? Clearly I dont understand shock tower relocation completely.

    Longer shocks= more travel:luvya:

But you (I) can set it to where your shock is almost all the way compressed when the axle is at full bump, then your down travle gets even more. The dakars will droop just fine. My 12 inch shocks are still the limiting factor...

Come on engineer think. If you get new shocks that are longer bodied to compinsate for a lift and you mount it to the stock location what suffers (spoiler ) its your up travel.

    And its cheaper
    And it give longer travle
And it set you up for a shackle flip too:yes:
