So with this truck, I always put into park with my foot on the brake and then set the parking brake. When I take my foot off of the brake pedal after setting the parking brake, it lunges FORWARD a little bit. Every night I pull into my garage (which pitches downward) and the truck lunges forward?????
It is very annoying. Anyone else ever notice this???

Let it rest in the park and then put the parking brake on.

I've always set the parking brake in my autos like you would in a manual. If not, wouldn't the weight be pressing against the gears (hard to shift to reverse when parked in uphill driveway)

I would think that once the parking brake is set, it shouldn't move, let alone forward.

Agree with that, but was an easy fix. ;)

    Maybe it needs adjustment.

I always park with the parking / emergency brake.

Stop the vehicle, push into Neutral, pull hand brake, release foot brakes, shift into Park. This allows for a free, unbound transmission while parked

When stopped with the brakes (foot activated) the majority of the weight load is on the front disk brakes. The parking brake is engaging the rears and when you unload the front (brakes) the front (wheels) shift.

It's weird. Driveway pitches up. Put trans in park with foot on brake pedal, set parking brake then take foot of brake pedal and it "lunges" forward a bit. Really weird. Most cars don't move after you set the parking brake.

So, put to neutral before setting the brake and it will be like every other car I ever drove. I'm gonna try it tomorrow.
    Thanks.

yes, push into neutral. I grew up driving front wheel drive cars so the front would be in a different state than the back when in gear

All mine have moved a hair. I do clutch in then pull the brake. I always figured its the shoes lodging onto the drims
