Any chance I could borrow this Brett? I waited to long to do my axle seals and my year old bearings are shot. :pout:

Of course, it's sitting in my shed collecting dust. The way I made it though, it will only really work with that specific press, or more accurately, one when the main upright in no more than 3" wide.

Best would be figure out a day we could meet up. After doing mine, I'm pretty confident I could knock out another in an afternoon, especially with a hand. Bring some beer and we'll knock it out.

Awesome! I've got a 50 ton press at work but if it will only work in your press I have no problem with doing it there. Thanks!

I think toyota messed up when they did my bearing and pushed the part that is to seal outward way to far. Let me know what you think.

    Looking into the abs hole.

Tried repacking it with grease to get me by I hope it's enough...

Uh shit Ryan, there should be to collars on that. Toyota did that?

The one collar is for holding the bearing on and the other collar is for riding on the seal. You arent going to be sealing at all.

From bottom up it goes bearing, collar, c clip, tone ring, and last collar.

Shows the order and where the seal rode on mine till I re-did it. I moved it up a smidge.

Yes a Toyota dealer did this! I hope they work with me on getting this fixed. I took it there and paid there rate so I knew it was done right! So frustrating! And to find it days before a trip to black bear pass.

Is there a second retainer ring down against the bearing? Can't believe a toyota dealer would do that  There's no where the seal is anywhere close to the retainer.

Pick up the parts and let me know when you can head this way.

    I can believe it.

They ordered the wrong bearings completely for mikes rear axle. And still installed them.

Truck are old. Need to find an old tech that knows them and thier little nuances well.

Washed, clay bared, and waxed the subi.

Felt bad about my truck get relegated to the back yard, so I fabbed up a quick camp table. Just need to get some cable to hold it out at 90°.

Toe plates and turn tables are very handy. Hopefully this prevents messing up another expensive set of tires.

I was looking at this right now again for some reason and noticed that your wheel weights aren't the stick-ons on your SCS's...i get mine balanced and rotated at discount tire. Do i just need to ask them to use those weights maybe? the stick on weights are terrible and fall of as soon as i get off pavement...pisses me off. So are those the only weights on the wheel?

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Hammer on only works on the rear of the wheel, the front still needs stick on unfortunately

Nice man! You just gotta watch the degree needle. I always push it forward to take the slack out when taking a reading 20°in and out cuz there's some play in it

The problem is you can only use the traditional wheel weights on the inside. I was a little tentative when I saw the tire shop used that type, as I expected them to use the stick on ones, but hasn't seemed to present an issue.

Then again, my truck has various vibrations due to a dented drive shaft and other random issues. Being it's not a daily anymore I don't really care.
