Mandatory Software Update - Radio

Mine updated an hour ago, or 7:30 central time.

 

Mine updated this morning before I left for work and later in the day, the app Entune app was updated on my phone.

 

Mine updated and now Pandora sits and spins. Progress.

 

I don't understand why they can't update the whole firmware this way. It's ridiculous to go into the dealer and waste half a day to get the TSB done so it will quit randomly rebooting. Fortunately it's only happened to me once so I am going to wait until my 10k service.

 

Man, when are they gonna put spotify on entune, Pandora is pretty cool but a data killer. Spotify would be a better option.

 

I got a text on the way home from work yesterday after having both the head unit and phone app update installed and experienced the same as you. It's still hit and miss on text message reading.

 

I finally got pandora to work. I had to start pandora on it's own, close it again. Then re-connect it to the truck.

 

Glad I'm not the only one! Would be nice to see some better stability/reliability with this feature. It's pretty handy to not try and grab phone to read and just put the button on the screen. I was hoping that the iOS 10 update may help, but it did not sadly. Oh well.

 

Mine came through the second I paired my phone last night while taking delivery

 

Tried again via WiFi today and it took forever (15 mins)but got the update and installed without a hitch.
When I get out of the valley of trees here , I get HD radio traffic and weather . I get stocks and it used my tracfone data plan for stocks ( it gave a warning as it needed my data plan for stocks)( but not for weather or traffic as I had it set for HD radio only and gave no warning for these) .
Anyone know of an app that does not use one of the internet apps for old time country music that will work with entune like a station such as Willy's Roadhouse ?

 

mine finaly updated. so not sure what it fixed but its back to what ever it was before with few icons of useless apps, like sports and stocks? stocks? whaaat use is that to me during offroad ? how about more detailed weather stuff maybe? or app that suggest a trail to try out

 

I have tried to do the "mandatory" update for the past 2-3 days so that message would disappear but it keeps saying "download unsuccessful" every single time. I mean immediately after you press the update now button. Any ideas?

PM: Finally got it to work. It would not download over cell data. I had to drive truck really close to the house to get Wifi signal. Then it downloaded fine.

 

hmm upgrade does it cause more bugs? Would not know truck is the shop until tomorrow...

 

I had the same Pandora issue as some of ya'll.

On the entune app. I pressed disconnect. Pandora. Enable high quality music. Then settings. Then connect back to truck. Worked first try.

Other things I tried without working included, remove all Bluetooth devices on stereo, restarting entune app, restarting stereo, restarting phone, killing the app and restarting, connecting to a different Bluetooth device. All of those things did not resolve my problem. Only the top trick did it. Mush have been an app issue on my phone. HTC One M9.

 

I deleted my phone and paired it again. When I was in the Bluetooth screen of my phone I noticed music streaming was "off". Flipped the switch, instant sound. Weirdly, it had worked for months prior to the update.

 

Started the truck up this morning, no Pandora again. Tried your method, only in reverse. Same result. Instant start. Seems like the is still a glitch in their software.

 

Yup pandora down after update. 1x successful loading Playlist on samsung s7. Otherwise wheel of death.

 

I think I found fix.

On my S5, went into settings, then storage, then apps. Pull up entune, delete cache and any data. Once done, open Entune back up and sign back in, since that's part of what you just deleted. From there test. Mine has worked fine since.

OP should update with a poll. Issue/ no issue. That way Toyota QA starts paying attention to our problems.
