FJ case in Tacoma

The reason I went with the switch I selected is because of the advantages of using the factory Toyota limit switches. Can the switches you posted do this? Is it something to even be worried about?

 

I used the switched you purchased. I also wired it to use the limit switched in the actuator. Works fine. You should be good.

 

Do you have a diagram of how you wired yours?

 

The up function will be 4x4 engaged

This is what I did.

 

Ya that's the guide I was following up until I noticed the pin locations are different, I also need up to engage 4x4

 

Just hold your switch upside down when you wire it

What is the benefit of swapping for an FJ case?

 

With this, what is done with the original 4x4 H2-H4-L4 switch?

 

Less electronics. The FJ case is a manual stick shift transfer case.

 

You eliminate the t-case shift motor but still have to trick the front diff disconnect. I wish Toyota still offered manual hubs, too.

Also I think you get a neutral position, which can be handy.

Switch works! Just have to make sure it functions correctly, sticks are sitting on the porch!
