Ok so here's a little back story...when I bought my truck, the dumbass I had bought it from had obviously neglected it and let it sit for who knows how many years. As I'm driving it home from the guys house, it starts to make this high pitch rattling sound, almost like the cat heat shield is rattling around. So I get under the truck and see everything is right and where it should be. I suspected something with the driveshaft so I got a grease gun and lubed up te U-joints as they had little nipples on them for lube, and that solved it, no more noise. Now fast forward a year and the noise comes back this morning. Same noise, only happens when accelerating/immediately after acceleration when going 35 or above. I'm trying to find my grease gun to lube it up again, I'm thinking either the lube that was in there dried or got dusty or whatever, or my carrier bearing or u joints are goin bad. Anyone else with this problem?

grease may solve the problem temporarily but if it was running dry prior to you buying it, Id change the ujoints just to be on the safe side. Just make sure you get ujoints that have zerk fittings.

Yea that may be what I end up doing. I just don't want to start replacing things and having it still make the noise but the U joints are for sure a suspect
