Screw holidays that's when it's the busiest!

Love my 5 speed! Only owned manuals too. Noice! I've heard those ones are sturdy as hell

So this prolly isn't the correct thread to ask this question in, but I'd like to bounce my idea off my local homies first. Here it goes...

When striping with plasti-dip, you have to coat and peel the tape quickly for a nice clean line, right. Well, what if one were to layer the tape, off-set in 1/8" increments with the bottom layer being the final paint line. Spray a coat, peel the top layer, spray a second and peel, spray a third and peel, and so on... Leaving an 1/8", uncoated line each time. Then you would be able to take a little more care while coating and not be so rushed, plus there would be a smooth taper down to the edge, softening the look. I have an idea for a 2 tone wheel, but have seen others who have dipped, peeled, razor cut lines, and such with decent results but not decent enough for my ocd. I was trying to figure a way to make clean lines with out cutting one. Plus I don't want to score the coating on the wheel if I decide I don't like it and peel it all back off.

    Thoughts? Ideas? Insults?

I should mention, I am an avid rattle can user and love, love, love to paint stuff. Been spaying for 20+ years with excellent results. I just haven't experimented with dip much. I dipped my glass sliding door at home for sun dampening and the wife asked me why we didnt do it sooner. Lol. That's about the extent of my plasti-dip experimentation thus far and I wasn't 100% satisfied with the finished line. I waited a little too long to peel the tape and had a little stretching on the edge between the clear and coated glass. 'Side Note': I only did 3 coats: one with vertical, then horizontal, then diagonal passes... When the sun shines on it, it has a lattice type look to it. It's kinda different.

Yup gotta figure out how I'm gonna replace it. Living in an apartment sucks and not having proper tools.

    So mod day anyone?

I'm going to the UF game so no good this weekend. But as long as I keep filling it every few times a week it'll get till I can actually do it. I'll have to look up if I need anything special. But I'll ask for a rain check :)

Absolutely. Lemme know when your ready and we can compare calendars. Also, I've got a Home Depot, Vato Zone & Advance 5m away, plus #3 stealer ships, the furthest is 30m and the nearest 15m away. We can make it happen.

I see. It is an old area and does get congested. I'm not ever there to work it's usually taking the wife out.

What are you surveying for? Property owner, upcoming construction, road work....?
