Thanks for the advice, another solid perspective to consider. I have not ridden in a truck with ICON suspension. What time are you test driving those trucks tomorrow? I have a sprinkler repair guy coming sometime in the morning (love it when they give you a 4 hour window) but I may be able to make it over there in the afternoon. I had considered the 2.5 BOSS kit but I am under the impression (perhaps mistakenly) that they are glorified, beefed up bilsteins.

I was only really interested in the spring since one of my buddies was installing a CB around that time but it turns out he didn't need it.

I think the BOSS kit is a Sway-A-Way product, correct me if I am wrong.

You are thinking of the Toytec ultimate kit. That is an upgraded 5100 shock. The BOSS 2.0's are a Toytec proprietary built shock. The new 2.5 BOSS and the brand new 2.5 with resi shocks are manufactured by another shock builder to a specific Toytec build spec for valving and body coating. They are not specifically built by SAW in all cases. Hell SAW only exists in name now anyways because they are owned by AFE.

We are going to do a before and after test on Phil's truck as he is moving from 2.0 vs 2.5. Then after that we will do a test drive in his new 2.5's with resi vs my ICON 2.5 extended travel with resi. So that would probably be early afternoon. I will PM you my number. Text me when the sprinkler guy is done and I will let you know where we are at.

You guys are giving me the itch to lift... I'm liking the looks of those BOSS 2.5's. Will look forward to a review after a couple months!

I daily drive on ICONs and am getting tired of the harshness on road. Seriously considering selling my setup and going with something progressive instead.

@TMFF Could probably re-valve those to be progressive and freshen them up at the same time

My understanding is that Icon uses an entirely different piston to create the digressive valving.

A new valve stack might help, but I don't think they can be made progressive just in the valving.

Off topic, but since you're here. Tried to bleed my front brakes, but no pressure was building up. Bad line?

Or is there any fluid coming out of the bleeder at all? Maybe the bleeder is plugged up

Yup I had Tim rebuild them last summer but didn't talk to him bout valving. I think the only option is to remove shims though.

@dan0mite used heavy duty zipties to stop the squeak on his. used them as isolators between the leafs.

I'd try using a 'dry' lubricant, although, still probably won't help anything.

FWIW, when I rebuilt my leaf pack over a year ago, I took out those stupid 'anti-friction' pads on the ends of the leaf. My leafs hardly make any noise at all. I'm convinced those things just make it worse by opening up a bigger gap inbetween the leaves to allow dirt and stuff in.

The ride on road is definitely an acquired taste. I think if I had to daily commute mine I would not have gone ICON. But off road especially in big bump I love them.

Tries bleeding and then reverse by pumping fluid through the valve on the caliper.
Yeah, there's fluid coming out. If I pump the lever once and release fluid comes out. If I pump the lever 50 times its the same amount and no pressure builds in the lever.
