I've heard Bilstein is coming out with 3rd gen specific 5100s in Nov?
I'm a week away from pulling the trigger on a front set but wonder what the difference in design will be?
Probably just valving to suit different spring rate ? Or... perhaps new height settings?

From what I've heard it's just the valving, everything else is the same. I have the 2nd gen ones on now and haven't had any issues.

Considering people are suggesting .85 setting unlike 1.75 for Gen 2, I could see them doing a 1 and 2" setting.

If you can wait, I say wait for the 3rd gen specific ones. I'm too impatient so I got mine 2 weeks after I got my truck. Either way you won't be disappointed, and it's the cheapest way to lift your truck.

Yes you can get the 5100s assembled with the sprigs. I know Toytec has a set.
Im going to run stock springs and 5100s at .85... assuming I wait and their design is the same.

I just installed mine.. set at ZERO with 885 springs ... extremely happy 1.5 - 2" lift.

Headstrong will put the kit together for you shocks and springs set to your liking. Don't forget the 1/4" spacer for the Taco lean ... it becomes more visible the more you lift the truck.

How was your alignment ? Were they able to dial it back in ? I hate over correction problems and I heard with that much lift it's better to get UCA s as well. ..

Alignment is good after install... I need to take it to a dealer and get it aligned again but its fine right now. When you lift we get a bit of positive camber, not much but a tad, eventually it will wear out the edge of the tire if it's not adjusted. Truck leveled and no drivers side lean and almost 2" of lift. I actually need to use the steps now... yeah, that's what I'm thinkin.

    Looks good thanks for posting.
I'm considering doing springs now as well because I don't think .85 from just the 5100s is gonna cut it for my taste. Especially if I'm dismantling the whole assembly anyhow :D

No lift for the rear in that pic right ?
