I've had bright white light on my last 2 vehicles prior to this one. None of them were top quality equipment, they were Amazon Chinese stuff. They've been submerged and exposed to north eastern and WV winters. Not a single issue. These are considered among the best. . After having such a clear white light for so long, driving with the low grade yellow halogens is less than ideal. Take out your old maglight, and hold it against my 1300 lumen led Bushnell, the difference is clear. Same thing on the road.

So the magnetic interference people keep bringing up is only when wet apparently.

Stock suspension works just fine for this truck, as well as the floor mats, battery, speaker, window tint, etc... But people all change and modify those... Why? To improve and make better.

Possible culprit... The LEDs for the high beams...

The real issue with all of this, is the ballasts, drivers, entire harness don't receive power when I start the truck, etc.. lights are off. So even if they were soaked and wet, it shouldn't be shorting until I click lights on....

    Anyone?

I would put it back to factory and leave it for a few weeks. Continue doing exactly what you have been and washing the truck the same way as well. I have a hard time believeing your getting a backfeed into the ECU and it's causing those issues.

Disagree with sticking with OEM lighting. 99% sure this is a case of "don't play in salt water that much". His OEM stuff works fine because he didn't blast through salt water with it. yeah yeah yeah "it never came above the wheels" that shit splashes everywhere no matter what. I bet it corroded something somewhere and the HID kit is just a likely culprit at this point. I wanna see @AFMurse2014 go back to Pismo and do the same shit with his OEM setup and when it happens again he can finally lemon his one off broken truck and get a new one that doesn't have this gremlin :D

I call BS on this only because you obviously never drove in the Northeast after a snow storm. We get salt everywhere. Places you never thought it could get.

OK, maybe not BS just not the cause IMHO. :drunk:Cheers!

Big difference between what splashes up off the road and being submerged

We're back to the salt water thing, tough crowd lol... however the truck fixed itself after salt water, it was the carwashes that completely killed it both times lol.

I've inspected the entire light harness, and there are no signs of corrosion or shorting, except that wire being melted in the led driver.

My question still stands, how is a harness that receives no power unless clicked on, causing issues?

Unless these trucks are sending minimal power or some sort of diagnostic signal.

    Who knows.

However as I am bored, everything's been filled with silicone, another email to TRS, I'll do the shrink wrap when I install it back on the truck. Of the thousands of people running Morimoto kits, I can't be the only person to ever get something wet...
