i don't have another 17" wheel i'm going to find either a 255/85/16 or a used 17 and a wheel. at least that's the plan for now.

    Everything TW members recommend
Get the 5th tire. You have lot's of time to get the wheel later and the 5th tire mounted before your first tire rotation.

ok so you gentlemen tell me how bad i screwed up buying these tires i feel like i got a good deal but not sure. bought 5 255/80/17's 4 mounted, balanced, and installed and a fifth tire for $1150. going by the prices i found online it seems like i did ok plus this shop says they'll stand behind them

Considering it cost me 1000 just for tires plus another 150 to mount and balance 5 id say you made off just fine :) now if you can get that 5th one balanced for the price of 4 thatd be nice

I just gave 4 almost brand new 255's away for $400. Got tired of dealing with flakes and looking at them in the shop

I got 5 ST Maxx in 235/85/16 (which is a cheap size) mounted and balanced with road damage replacement certificates for $1,376 out the door, doing it right isn't cheap!

I got 5 235/85-16 for 750. I traded in 5 new tires (well 1 was a dunflop). 4 had 30 miles on them and I got 320 off from the local discount for the traded tires. Did not go with the 255's b/c I don't have a lift yet. They are huge compared to stock. Will post picks tomorrow.

bless you for doing what you do. spent my time at fort carson and all over the place. i met an interesting guy at the archery shop where i work part time. he's active duty and is getting discharged on disability. he was a dog handler and they discharged his dog to him. the dog has only three legs he lost 1 in an ambush and is the first dog to be awarded a cmh. interesting pair. out west is interesting compared to here on the east coast take advantage of the off roading opportunities oooooorah
