Saturday evening things went horribly wrong for a Jet-skier trying to launch his Jet-ski with his brand new 3 week old Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. He ended up driving over his own foot and his truck at the bottom of the bay in 12 feet of water. We were able to save his Jet-ski and tie the truck to the dock so that it would not float further out into bay.

After several hours of trying to get the truck out the Peel Police Marine Unit came by and asked what happened. When the situation was explained the Police told everyone involved to stop and that they were taking over the salvage operating.

The truck and trailer were successfully salvaged the following morning.

Whew. That was a cool video. Props to the guys.

I have walked up on two black bears while fishing down here in S.C. (One of them I got twice in one day). I walked backward for about a half mile just to be sure he didn't get too curious. They were small, maybe 120 lbs.

When I was younger (and dumber) I would go out and walk with them through the woods at my parents house up in N.J.. We had a few large ones (~300 lbs) up there that lived behind our house.

Yeah, was gonna say, good on those guys for keeping it cool. We had lots of black bears where I grew up in PA, they never bothered anyone, and I ran up on quite a few back in the day.

One day in Mammoth while fishing we got chased down a trail, out onto a downed tree, and into a lake by a bear. Damn thing wouldn't even eat the trout we were trowing at it! Lucky for us a couple women fishing on a boat in the middle of the lake came over and swooped our cold asses out of the water!

I read the article. "The Secret Life of Plants" was proven to not prove plants have feelings. I believe everything described in that article is explained by other mechanisms than trees having brains.

I wasn't being a proponent of any opinion about whether trees or plants had a brain in the animal sense . I have read some articles re the Dr Simard research at UBC and find it pretty interesting , plus co-operative "communication" between trees like the acacias in the article has been pretty well documented , but that wasn't my question , I asked if he read the article , most people form an opinion at the title and take the rest for granted
