Hey everyone, Mark here - this is my first post.

    I have a 2007 Tacoma Reg Cab 2wd - super basic.

I'm trying to put bigger wheels/tires on my truck with factory suspension and I'm trying to figure out how big I can go. Most things I see online that specify factory height, are primarily 4WD and I feel the factory height for a pre runner is taller than the base model.

Could I get some confirmation on this? (I've looked through the forum and couldn't find this info anywhere).

While I'm here.. if anyone has feedback to the question, I'm also looking for feedback on how big is really worth going on the 2.7l so I don't annihilate my mpg.

    Thanks!!

4wd and prerunner share same suspension and are same height.

If you are asking if the base 2wd and PreRunner share the same suspension...no they don't. The PreRunner and 4x4 share the same suspension...hence the PreRunner sitting higher than your rig.

Right, and after looking at ChemDawg's suggestion, I still haven't found an answer about the base model height. I know it's lower, but how much lower is the question.

When you say base, that is broadly interperted.

Are you speaking of a 5 lug?

Or are you speaking of a stripped 6 lug, non prerunner?

Like my info says.. as base as it gets lol. 5 lug, 2.4l, reg cab, factory suspension. I just want to know how much extra to add when looking at all these cool examples of 4wd tacomas with bigger wheels/tires.

Your options are limited iirc to just under 3" with fatbobs garage.

Not a whole lot of 5 lug options.

235 x 75 x 15 is the largest tire with absolutely no complications on the OE 6" wheel, stock suspension, no wheel spacers, etc.

Use the tire calculator to find that diameter, then you can figure out what other wheel/tire combo matchs that diameter.

Or you can look at x runners, which are 5 lugs with 18" wheels. Street trucks.

Any component you change (offset, wheel width, etc) will potentially impact your results, so proceed with caution.

Also, we have a whole 5 lug forum, which you might find helpful.

Warning: There are not many suspension options for our 5 lugs, so use care in picking a wheel/tire combo, as 'correction' by suspension changes is restricted.
