I used a smaller, and more square, scab plate. I didn't go as high to give myself more room for welding.

I also went a little further back to keep the strap off the bump stop mount.

CVs at ride height dont look bad. Is when you droop out is it bad?

    Maybe time to strap it?

No troubles. Limit straps a good idea especially if you are extending more then you should. Just need to cycle the suspension to see how far it droops and where you should stop it. There is plenty of good info around here and I am sure someone with more experience and/or have done it chime in with good advice.

How do you wheel it? Slow crawl or bombin whoops?

A lot of guys strap MT here. I do not personally and had no issues yet. Im more against the diff drop over strapping IMHO, but that is me.

How many miles on the diff, do they have original seals? Is the diff properly filled? Doubt it's your cycle limits, I ran no straps for a while and was pulling lots of travel for a Mt setup and never had leaky diff.

    X2 I think diff drops are a no-no on our 2nd gen diff's.

Have you pulled the axles or replaced the diff oil?

When you put new seals in be sure not to pound them in too far or they will do the same thing.

I've got a 3" coilovers lift, do I need straps? Sorry for the question prolly been answered, take it easy on me, lol. Don't want to ruin my new gear. I cruise forest roads mostly but on my last trip I was definitely banging on my bumpstop on some big w gentle whoops on the trail. Was going like 40 and extending and compressing my gear. The shocks were hot to the touch after , I could see the marks from the front bump, and rubbed some dust on the mark. I could see that again I was making contact with the bump, repeatedly. I'm assuming I was fully extending too.

I would say cycle it on the C/Os with no springs and look at the angles. If your CV are binding at all then make the call.

I have a very similar setup to yours.

So the need for straps is based on the CV joints, not a risk of over extending my shocks?

I assume you have the spacer pulled out of the COs?

I don't think so? Are you talking about an internal spacer? If so, no

It's both, one will be the issue first, and both are expensive if you use them to limit suspension travel.

I got the ARB bp-51s, they gave me a solid 3" up front, I don't think they are described as ext length

Cycle it, if its binding CVs make the decision. Youve got lowers so welding a tab will be easier.

Can I just put it on jackstands to cycle it to full droop?

I know nothing about the bp51s but you should be able to tell if its binding at droop on stands. 20k isnt a lot of miles.
