creaking leafs

i have an 08 taco without the tsb. i tried to get the tsb but i have too many miles they said. but anyway when i go over speed bumps or dips or anything really my leafs creak like crazy. i sprayed white lithium grease in between them and they are slightly better but still creak. i know its not necessarily a bad thing, but its just so embarresing. and ideas?

 

I have the exact same problem and it drives me crazy. I notice that the squeaking seems most prominent after I'm done offroading, and so it seems that it probably dust/dirt. I usually just try to spray some water in the leafs and it sometimes helps it not squeak AS much.

 

If your over 36k miles then yes any TSB regarding this issue will not apply to you, unfortunately. You can go to the dealer and have them install new silencer pads or take your truck to a suspension shop and they will do it. I had my Tahoe done and it cost me around $50. A grease or lubricant is a temporary fix.

 

ok, when i bought the truck i bought the platinum warranty that covers everything except body panels, so would that be covered do you think?

If your truck is under warranty, and I were you, I'd definitely lean on them for service work.

IDK about the rear silencer pad TSB- but the main leaf spring TSB is only for the factory warranty (3/36) and not the extended...so that extra warranty is probably useless for that.

Make sure you are greasing the bushings that attach the springs to the frame too...And that the ubolts are tightened/torqued down correctly.
