I want to use the Warn 9.5ti Portable with the ARB Deluxe Front Bumper using a 2" hitch receiver. Has anyone tried this before or fabricated a hitch that mounts to the winch points of the ARB bumper?

Some custom made bumpers have this feature but couldn't find any ARB's with it. I sent ARB an e-mail but they just said they recommend mounting it in the bumper. Having the winch permanently mounted isn't an option for me because I want the flexibility of using it in the back. I'm planning on solo expedition travel so I would need to be able to rescue myself. Also, I want to avoid the extra mass on the front bumper, I'd rather have the winch stored in my truck or in the bed. The ARB is already heavy enough without a winch.

I'm really sold on the ARB because I'm not going to be doing hardcore stuff, just expedition travel and I really like the looks. The airbag certification is a HUGE plus since this is my daily driver too, ~600 mi/week.

So, anyone seen this before? Anyone have a recommendation of a someone that could fab a front hitch to fit inside the ARB winch mountings (CBI or Demello maybe)? Maybe I'll try it out myself, can't be too bad, probably pretty fun too.

The parts you are looking for do exist...Cause there are folks out there with stock bumpers mounted over front receivers and they use them. CBI has made them in the past.

Good luck finding the right one!!

I have an ARB bumper and had a Warn 9.5 XP mounted in it up until last week when the motor seized due to corrosion from New England road salt. I'm now looking for an adapter to add a standard 2" receiver hitch to the bumpers 4.5"x10" winch bolt holes. I'm going to store the winch on a cradle inside my tool box to keep the corrosive salt spray off it. It will also be nice to be able to mount the winch on the front as well as the back.

So far I haven't found an adapter out there. I have a CBI rear bumper and love their products/customer service... so I'm going to call them up and ask them if they can make me one and perhaps offer it on their website. Or I may get one made local if its fast/cheaper.

I did find the below pics from Willman on the Expedition Portal Site (2007 post) who made his own custom ARB Front Bumper 2: receiver hitch mount. This is exactly what I need. ARB Receiver Hitch.jpg ARB Hitch on Tacoma.jpg ARB Receiver Hitch Back.jpg
