5/16" adapter to -6AN into filter assembly. Then -8AN to and through fuel rail. -6AN out of the regulator.

How big can you actually make the 1grfe before you have issues? like 4.5-4.6L? That also make me wonder how big the 3.4L can get...

Basically just less than 4.5 liters. From what my recent engine building experiences have found.

Can't bore much more out of the 3.4. There was a fully custom stroked 3.4 this guy made a long time ago but never really materialized. He had to get the crank custom made. Forgot the displacement but IIRC he sold it and there as a TW member that bought it. It was a red S-Runner IIRC.

I know exactly which one you're talking about, (I think)because it was for sale on Craigslist, had willwood brakes and was a 3.5l

Yes. Someone bought it and posted but didnt see much from him after he was assured his truck was legit. I think he might have been on ttora or customtacos but I thought I saw him here too.

I don't think you need to worry about displacement. Build the internals, top end, and get some proper engine management and with the bore/stroke of this engine and the stout iron block, you can put down some serious power. The 5VZ is an oversquare engine and should be able to run at ~6-6500k rpms stock. With build, 8k should be a starting point. Yes Toyota designed it to be a torque monster and you have at least a mile of intake runners, 2 1/4" exhaust, and not to mention very reserved valve lift and duration, however if you looked at the power curve of the 5VZ, it was still making good power at redline. Torque maxed at about 3000-3500 rpms.

Speaking of internals and such, I may have my hands on a spare 5vzfe soon. If so I think I'm gonna rebuild it and put rods in it, and a decent head job (lol). All later of course. With just rods and heads done what do you think it can make? (and LCE's street pistons, which are hypereutectic) I'd say 500-600 range. I'm not sure if the stock crank is a weak point tbh...

Not sure, depends on a lot of things.

First thing, a correction to my last post, power fell off sharply after 4800-5k rpms.

    Second, LCengineering made a 300 hp / 320 ft/lbs N/A enigne at 12:1 compression ratio.

I think with rods and a forged crank from the 3VZ-FE (from the Camry, not the 3VZ from the truck) plus a proper top end build and increased redline should get you in the 500-700 hp range. With a turbo of course.

Oooohh I like those N/A numbers...Man maybe an N/A build would be cool too...Also wouldnt rods from a 3vzfe make the 5vzfe into a 3vzfe?

Wouldn't have been as easy to mount the filter on a boxed-section frame, which typically also have thinner walls...

The 5VZ, 3VZ-E (truck), and 3VZ-FE (Camry) all shared the same crank. The 3VZ-FE (arguably the best Toyota made V6 ever) had a forged crank while the 5VZ and 3VZ-E had cast cranks.

Putting the 3VZ rods in the 5VZ would really lower the compression as the 5VZ was a taller block. Probably wouldn't work without some seriously tall pistons :p

Yeah that's kinda what I was thinking...lol. Well 3vzfe crank, lce rebuild kit with rods should be a pretty stout (expensive) motor...:D Man I really like the idea of a high power N/A engine though... I've been thinking on the idea of buying a 5 lug and putting a N/A 5vz in it and making a sort of off road rally thing like a subaru or some equivalent...This whole turbo thing, while it makes a lot of power is sort of, how do I say this, I dunno frustrating? lol is that about right?
