Does anyone have a cold air intake on their Gen3. What brand did you go with? What one is the best

Just get an aftermarket filter. The intakes aren't much different and not worth the ridiculous price.

It's not really going to do anything unless you want more noise. They're all going to be generally the same.

Just keep your stock box and replace with a better filter

    What he said ^^^^^

Just get a new filter and spend the money on something else.

I have no issues with oil sprayed filters. Why the comment? I've had an aftermarket intake on all my vehicles but they weren't as pricey as the one for the Tacoma

A lot of guys always hate on oil sprayed filters that they screw up your maf.
I've had k&n as well. No problems. But I do find they have a bit too much oil from factory. So I use the cleaning kits, clean the filter then respray it with a little less.

First time I ever had one it had too much oil and did cause my maf to get a little fucky. Cleaned the maf used a little less oil never had an issue again.

Why do you want an aftermarket intake?

I've never had an issue with any of them from any previous vehicle. Although I did put too much oil on after a cleaning and smoked the maf. Only happened once and won't do it again. I think the oil helps keep the fine stuff out of the engine but get to each their own

I had k&n air filters on my old c55 amg; the previous owner oiled too much and I had to replace the 800 MAF later down the line. Swapped to OEM filters, saw no loss in power and just replaced according to schedule.

    depends on climate.
Where you have lots of dust the oil sometimes works better.
Down side though it tends to require cleaning more.

I've always had K&N since I can usually get a really good price on them.
AEM makes some great oil free filters. Which I might give a try.

One plus side I see to not having an oil filter is if you have on board air as well with a blowgun attachment after being in a really dusty area you can just blow out a lot of the dust in the filter. With an oil filter it will likely stick a bit more.

no problem. Just check around by the part number. There are a few places that carry them. Trdpartsforu.com. They're in Dallas. Also check eBay
