Any recommendations for a dual read remote thermometer?
I have a remote meato thermometer made by brookstone I got as a gift a few years ago. It's ok but looking to upgrade.
Also how about a decent instant read thermometer?

The maverick 733 is popular. It's what I have and has 2 dual purpose probes.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I use something similar to this. No issues except I bought probes with a little more length to the cable.

I really like my chefs alarm. High temp, low temp, cook time, and timer.

Brisket been on for 9 hours....temp says 200, but tenderness doesn't feel like it's there. It's foiled, gonna let her go a little more.

She's been wrapped since 160. Bark was good when I wrapped her. Not crisp now since she's been wrapped.

You got to 200 internal on a packer brisket in 9 hours? Did you foil so tight that you boiled it? I know cook times vary, but my last packer brisket took 20+ hours at 225.

Scottalot got me thinking....pulling her and resting her in the cooler. Wrapped with an old towel and pillows. Wife always looks at me funny for that.

Never actually used the cooler as a cooler, it's my official resting box!

My favorite use for the Yeti Roadie - thick walls and a freezer gasket mean no need to get towels or blankets dirty. An hour or two of cooler time is a must for a brisket or shoulder. I even used it a couple weeks ago to rest ribs for dinner. Worked great.

Probably. I'd double check the IT with another probe or thermo if possible, then if it checks out I'd cooler it and see what happens. It might loosen up after a rest. If not, slice it thin and use a little extra BBQ sauce on the sammich. :)

Gentleman I pulled the trigger today on a Masterbuilt 30" electric. I've been looking for months trying to figure out what would fit my lifestyle and I think I found the one. I'm looking forward to that first smoked turkey. Thanks to this thread and for your posts that I've been reading I've learned a lot. I also bought a Maverick ET-733 with a longer probe and now I need to source some recipes. I really want to make smokey beans.

    The one I picked:
