"Wheeler's Anonymous"

Just got back from Azusa with @stvstoy....was supposed to be a "tame" trip to get a little dirt on the new bumper but I ended up snapping the hinge bracket off of my TRD tailpipe and it took a nice 2" chunk off of the outside of the tailpipe with it Also came down pretty hard on a rock with my front driver's side tire and got a piece of the rock wedged between my rim and KO2....luckily we were able to pry it out with a screwdriver and *fingers crossed* the tire seems to be okay.

I think the universe is trying to tell me to take it easy for awhile lol.

I think Steve got some cool videos of the water crossings though, looking forward to those

 

What do you guys think? Hoping I can just get a muffler shop to weld on a patch and re-connect the hinge.

It broke off where the hinge was welded on previously (by a muffler shop). It was only $20 to get it welded last time, so hopefully they'll take care of me if I bring it back to them and patch it up for me. Just hoping the tailpipe itself isn't compromised. Doesn't sound any different

 

So where's the full size pics¿ @icetreye get any good squeeze?

 

Have them cut it off and put on a new pipe. They can transfer your tip as well.

If I were you I'd just dump it under the bed like I did.

Sounds better inside and no more damage.

 

Is that CA smog friendly? I remember we were talking about it before but I can't recall if it was one of those 'find the right smog shop' sort of ordeals

 

As long as it's after the cabin you're good.

And after the catalytic converter... Gotta have that in place.

So I met a guy with pretty much the exact same truck as mine, guy gets 21mpg... What da heck is up with my engine

 

that weld looks like ass.

 

Driving habits.

 

Weld shops. I'm pretty sure they're the 0.50$ store welders...

 

Nah even if I had hammer to the ground 24/7 it wouldnt be that big of a difference, he even has bigger tires then me

 

How much freeway driving do you do and what's your average top speed? Anything over 65, 70mph tops is going to kill your mileage on these trucks.
