Can someone please explain to me the difference between LED and HID headlights? I am really wanting to get some new headlights but don't know which way to go. Which ones are better? What are the pros and cons of each? Please help and add pictures!! This is URGENT! I need to order these by this coming week!

Both are hit or miss and neither were made for stock housings.

I'm seeing more issues with people running LED than HID. Seems like everyone jumped on the bandwagon of cranking out subpar, garbage LED bulbs for headlight use.

I'll keep it simple.if you off-road a lot I would stick to led. They have no moving parts and will last longer in hard abuse. If she's a street queen then maybe hids (I love the warm up and color) and they still produce more light not much more but they do. I notice when I go off roading with my friends tundra his hids flicker when we are on the trail. Either way it will be nice

I went with HIDs because I've had experienced with them. People will argue that HIDs will cause your light output to look scattered but to be honest the taco comes with projector headlights that makes em spread out nicer. The cut off the headlight is still there just like your stock halogens. I was going to go with LEDs since a shop close to me carries both, but i decided to go with what I'm familiar with.

You may get better results if you detail your plans/intentions/desires.

Cheap versions of either will give crap results, resulting in less light that the halogen bulbs.

What's wrong with stock headlight bulbs? Seem like enough light for me.

Ok. My truck will never go off roading, it is just a street truck. I want pure white headlights that are very bright. I want top brand products, I am not a person that will get cheap stuff because you get what you pay for

Dry night drives, the stock halogen were fine with me as well, but where I live it rains all the time and driving with stock halogens when its raining I can barely notice that i have headlights on. Just preference I guess

I'm running the Opt 7 leds, happy so far. Same coverage and cut off as stock but much brighter.

I have morimoto 2stroke and they ok, good quality. But hid will output more light. If you don't mind paying for quality then retro is the best way to go!

LED's need their own style of projectors because they are very directional. They don't produce light 360 deg so they don't work in halogen or hid projectors very well. HID's are still the better choice IMO

Tow package, LED interior lighting, led low beams, led fog lights, led licence plate lights, OEM bed mat, OEM mud flaps, OEM chrome raised tailgate letter inserts, nerf bars, AVS ventshades. Complete Kicker audio system (4 channel amp, mids and tweets in the front, 2 ways in the back, 2 10 inch comp rt subs, Zxsum8, alpine pdx 1.600 boxes and amp rack by Mr Marv), Pop & Lock, Mobtown locking bed storage doors, Bilstein 5100s, Katzkin Leather interior, Redline Hoodstruts, Backflip.
I have always went with HIDs until I bought my Tacoma. I decided to give LEDs a try. I don't think I will ever go back. The installation is as easy as changing your bulbs, that's a huge plus and they look great. The light output of the bulbs I went with are not as crazy bright as a 55 watt HID kit but they are just fine IMO.

I run HID's in the lows, high output LED's in the highs and low output yellows in the fogs. The retrofit source has great quality HID's that basically drop in the taco's projectors. They have a good sharp cutoff, good clean white light and fire up reasonably fast. I opted for LED's in the highs due to the on/off nature of them. You don't want to continually strike HID bulbs, it wears them out, plus they need a few seconds to warm up.

Ive seen stock halogen side by side with an hid drop in.
The difference was the kelvin color... thats it.

Same cutoff, same intensity, same width.... id prefer the halogen and save money. If it aint broke........
Unless you like ricer blue, which is useless in rain, fog, or dust.... and ironically fatigues YOUR own eyeballs lol.

Theres nothing urgent between the 3.

    Adjust beam accordingly
