I used Krylon semi-flat.At a cost thought the damn spray tips are Garbage.Once you spray with it the Continues to trickle to propellent out after you set it down.So messing with that but they are the only makers of this style.
As far as the center caps I found a writeup on here with them and I am going to have to track that user down and thank him. They are part#PTR20-35081 got them for $10 each from a dealer online found one local so shipping is fast.

These cap dont just slap on you have to remove so material. The post i used he belt sanded them off,i used tin snips

wheels look really good man. I have painted 2 different sets of 07 trd sport wheels. The 2nd set I sand blasted down because the clear coat was chipping off and then painted them with satin black caliper paint!

I haven't had any problems with them yet....buy the good paint and you won't have trouble. If it does chip thats the beauty of spray paint! they are def a lot easier to do without tires on them ha. You have to tape the tires off if they are mounted...I just got new tires and some other stuff done so Ill post up some new pics soon...waiting for my rocker bars to come in so I can weld those on too!

Obviously you have had some experience with rim painting. Those cards are a kick-ass idea. How tough is it to sandblast that terrible clear coat / acrylic crap off of the rim? Is it worth buying a small sandblaster so I can do them myself? Ideas / thoughts welcome.

Well I can not take the credit on the use of the cards.Found a DIY writeup about it out of the many that are one here.I am fairly handy but always open to new tricks and there are alot on here.I wet sanded them with 400 grit worked ok just lots of time scrubbing.Maybe look into baking soda blasters?shop that is local to you.Sand I think would be a bit much but maybe someone on here has.

A small sand blasting cabinet will not cut it. I have a cabinet at work and I tested it out and 1 rim took me about 1 hr to sand it all the way down. So I took them to my uncle who works for a sand blasting company and he put it in his machine and they were done pretty quick. I got lucky and found a guy who had 4 rims off his 04 4runner that are the same as the ones I had on my truck. The clear coat was messed up on all 4 of them. He sold me all 4 rims the lugnuts and center caps for $50!!

I then sand blasted those took the sensors out of my other wheels and wrapped them up with the 265/70/17 bfg AT and sold the other wheels and tires for $600 so those tires only ended up costing me about $300! One mans junk is another mans treasure!

Thats a good idea man. could you still see silver around the lip of the rim though, or did the paint kind of run over and clean that up?
