Eh maybe. But I don't even know what the goal of working on drum brakes is. Like what I'd actually be trying to achieve when working on them. I know the very basics of how they slow a vehicle, but that's about it. Even if I took it apart carefully, took pictures, and compared it to the other side, I still wouldn't even know what I'm trying to do with it all.

I see where you're coming from dude, you're not going to break an axle fishing on the beach, it's just the sand gets everywhere, not sure you can rinse it out of the wheel bearings, calipers, u joints, leaf springs, bushings etc. Especially every other weekend. Obviously guys are on the beach all the time so I'm sure you'll be fine. Plus that's just mine and josh's way of trying to convince you to come to Rausch:cheers:

I'll make it out there one day. I've got some quick projects to do and maybe if there's an October/Novemberish trip I'll check it out.

You're right up the road from me Mike. Bring it by and as long as it doesn't need parts I can get it going here. If it needs parts we can work that out. And riding season is year round if you have the right clothes.

Yeah sure we'll have to link up sometime. I know very little about bicycles, so I would be lost trying to fix it. I mean I need a lot more than mechanical stuff, but the mechanical stuff is my main concern. If I recall, I've got a Specialized Rockhopper FS. It does well, but it's long past its prime and I am to blame.

Oh I was absolutely asking for it. There's video of that. I'll try to find it.

And I was just trying to move the bumper enough so it wouldn't damage the tailgate when I open it. :p

Found it- skip to like 3:00 for the "do you care about your bumper?"

Your suspension is a little squeaky.

I'm trying to figure out how to mount my ARB awning to my OEM roof rack.
Are there sturdier hose clamps that are wider/stronger than the ones at home depot?
Here's my initial mock up. I'll bolt the ARB bracket to the 2" steel channel (is configures nicely around the ovalish shape of the OEM crossbar. And the bolt head clears the crossbars because of the channel.
I really need wider hose clamps.

And what's the best way to cut this steel channel in half. The only thing I have is a sawzall and jigsaw.

Hmmm. I forgot I have one of these.
    Thanks Jon.

Any recommendation for a stronger/wider hose clamp?

That video was 3 sets of tires ago. Probably around 2011/2012?

That's not suspension. That's brakes. It's called 2 foot driving. One foot on the brake and one foot on the gas. That way you can crawl over obstacles instead of coming down hard on rocks.

Get off the green trails and you'll learn a little something about wheeling!
