Less electrical load. 120 more watts that can be used for other things, or simply less load on the alternator. And they run cooler.

What melted? Even then, they consume less wattage and produce more lumens. Less electricity gets converted to waste heat.

Driving at night when its raining with the stock Halogens is pretty much driving with your headlights off.... But if you guys dont mind it then keep your stocks, I myself changed it to a 6k HID and I would definitely recommend it.

6k HID in the projectors on the '16s. LED in the high beams and fogs!

RSI LED FTMFW.... there's a group buy (closed now) with reviews and install directions... I have them and couldn't be happier. These lights are perfect match for the LED driving lights on my TRD. High beams off the charts, lows are bright white but still use the factory cutoff ... direct drop in for the stock lamps.

I have 35W 4300K morimoto from theretrofitsource.com in my retros. It is IMO as close as you can get to OEM HID look of Lexus, Cadillac, Benz, etc...

90% of my motivation for for spending big money on quality retros is so I could easily drop in HIDs. I just feel HIDs are rock solid technology, and in my experience always had great results (assuming you don't buy cheap or have garbage aftermarket projectors).

    Good luck.

I am highly considering the RSI LED lights. It says for a 2016, low beams and fog lights are H11, and high beams are H9. So to do all three in LED, I would just have to buy two sets of H11 and one set of H9 on the RSI website?image.jpg

Yes, but you should not run LEDs in your foglight halogen reflector housings without the LEDs having glare guards, as they will scatter uncontrolled light into the eyes of oncoming drivers. Those LEDs you are looking at do not have glare guards. Those LEDs also use cooling fans, a cheap old dated failure prone design. Look for units with sold state (fanless) cooling like Philips and the latest from TRS.

If money is no concern to the OP then I vote to do a retrofit using the Lexus RX350 (non-AFS) bi-xenon projectors. Although the '16 models come with a factory projector headlamp, the projector is intended to be used with a halogen lamp. The length of a HID bulb vs a halogen is different therefor the light hits the projector differently so the photometrics are not near as good as an HID projector setup. Install a pair and you'all be able to see hot spots on the street. Many people fail to see or notice this as they are satisfied in what I consider marginal results.

I had installed the Morimoto HID kit in the factory projectors and was not impressed with the light spread so I performed the retrofit and couldn't be happier. The overall light output and quality of light that is spread is much higher and cleaner. It's also nice to now have essentially four high-beams. Performing a retrofit is not a bolt-on in 30 mins so plan on spending a couple days to perform the upgrade.

@theretrofitsource is currently working on a true LED projector, which I plan to upgrade to once they have ironed out the details.

They were flawless until Friday. One of the rings went out. You're right.

You barely notice your lights are on, but those halogens reflect off of the rain less and increase your far range vision due to not as much frontal light from the rain. Also, it has been scientifically proven that although white/blue appears to be brighter, the human eye focuses and sees detail much better on yellowish light.
