Dropped my truck off this AM and they gave me a loaner. Only 2k miles on odo. Could not tell if rear end howled because LCAs are not plugged and they were howling the entire way home. Noticed hood vibrating/fluttering pretty good on the way home so popped the hood and saw a few of these:

Maybe the Mexico plant still uses horse back mail, and the horse Toyota sent from Japan drowned crossing the pacific delivering the letter to tell them how to correct all the assembly issues:deadhorse:

Just more evidence to hold off for a 2018 or later... Maybe even a Ford Ranger!

I'll never buy a 3rd gen after seeing all these issues with a Brand New vehicle. Obviously it was just rushed out of the plants before even being tested, or even looked at for quality control. The people dead in Japan must be rolling over in their caskets to get out and build a real Toyota Tacoma.

It's only a $35K to $40K dollar truck. Relax, it's not going to be perfect. No vehicles are perfect. It isn't like it's a rolls royce. :rolleyes:o_O:laughing:

I'm over in Queen Creek btw. I'm just days away from purchasing a 2017 TRD Sport 4x2, these trucks don't seem to represent the Toyota's of yesteryear.

I'm going to check on my hood here in a few smitty. Just turned 15100 miles. I don't notice any hood vibration. Mine was built in Texas

Make sure you go over that thing with a fine tooth comb for issues that are noted in many threads here. Also take it on the freeway and make sure you get a nice LONG test drive. Listen for rear diff howl, of course the LCAs probably will howl without being plugged (which is a TSB) so you won't likely hear the rear end howling yet. On top of that a lot of the issues take time and mileage to surface.

You picked up on the 5 cent plastic plugs.
Hard time coming up with ideas today ?

My hood adhesive is still holding tightly. Maybe these trucks with problems are rolling out of Mexico? I'm still loving my rig
