What has 2 thumbs and could give a shit about the cover?

    Yeah! This guy!

Just kidding around. This AIP system had been a pain in my dick, too.

I'm very interested in hearing about it. It just blows my mind that Tundra owners (me), this issue is covered with no issue. It's the same system!

Only thing clean under the hood. :anonymous:
On another note, the removed foam was pretty dirty/dusty on one side. Never gave it a thought until I saw this thread.
    Thanks @YEABOY .

Pulled the pump apart this morning and let all of the impeller teeth spill out. There were remnants of the OEM filter jammed in the impeller and stuck in the end of the hose. It took a bit of shaking and wiggling, but I was finally able to get the impeller to turn freely. Put everything back together with the Amazon UNI filter on the housing, fired up the truck, and had no CEL. I can honestly say that this was the first time I ever heard that pump spin up and I've had the truck for almost 2 months.

I did the Uni filter this weekend and my pump is fairly new so the foam inside was clean. Now it has max flow and sucking more air! ha ha.

Foam deteriorates overtime and specially in heat so I don't know why Toyota even used it in the first place.

thanks for posting these. Now I know mine will work with the cover on.

I thought that it might not work since I relocated the smog pump a few months ago - but the pictures prove that the filter will remain under the cover and not be exposed.
