I just bought a brand new Bosal muffler for my 2002 Tacoma.
Please tell me there is suppose to be a hole (possibly for drainage ?) on the backside lower part of the muffler as pictured.
    Thanks

That does look intentional. But if it is not supposed to be there, nothing a little JB Weld wouldn't take care of.

It's a water/ condensation drain... Keeps your muffler from rotting out with all the moisture trapped in there.

DO NOT PLUG IT!! Aftermarket mufflers are sometimes drilled from muffler shops to help with drainage also.

be sure it remains at the lower position
    when the muffler is mounted.

Well considering that its perfectly at the very bottom backside it makes sense to me that its a drain hole.
    Thanks for all the help.
