changing my brakes

i think it's about time for me to change my brakes. i'm no mechanic, and i don't know too much about brakes in particular.

i COULD scrub the whole website for research, but if anybody got ANY tips or can point me in the right direction, i'd really appreciate it. kinda strapped for time (and cash) right now.

i usually just take it to the dealership but i don't think i can afford whatever price they're gonna throw at me at the moment.

reliable websites, parts dealers, past experiences, any info would help.

any recommended brake pads? ceramic or metal?

how bout for the drums and shoes? im assuming i should change those too while im at it?

I checked it out and the starting price was 68.95 for a set of fronts. That was for an 05 tho but not bad prices at all if you check it out IMHO

 

just go down to auto zone get ceramic pads and new rotors

As much as I hate the idea of throwing on autozone parts on my tacoma, I happen to work there and see the products first hand. The quality is surprisingly good and I never hear complaints from customers about them.

Plus you can't beat the lifetime warranty including wear and tear on them.

 

Pay the $80 and get the toyota pads. Then get the rest from your favorite auto parts store. Those pads last forever and do so without that much dust at all. Mine lasted over 85,000 and still had some meat on them. You get what you pay for. They don't squeal, coat your rims with black dust, and they last forever. That's just my 2 cents.

 

I have a 06 CB LB 4x2, 6logs and a I'm about to install a new rotors and pads on it. I know that we have many options out there but if anybody can help me on this i'll appreciate it. Thanks
