Is there a way to set up the doors so when i unlock the drivers door from the handle that it will unlock all the doors at once. I find it annoying to have to hit the unlock button when everyone standing in the rain or your hands are full and you want to open the passenger door?

    Thanks

Yes, you have to go into the truck settings and change it so it will unlock all doors. I thought it was also very annoying and finally found a solution

Yeah. Look through the settings. I found it in the manual.

"If you go to Apps --> Vehicle --> Vehicle Customization you can change how the fob unlocks the doors. i.e. You can set all doors to unlock upon your hand touching the handle (for keyless entry models)"

Taken from the Tips & Tricks sticky thread. Highly recommended read.

Most all vehicles have been one tap for driver door, two taps for all doors, for many years.

This is so a driver who is alone can manage their door only, and not have other doors unlocked that unwanted guests can jump in. Like in a mall lot, where hijackings/abductions/strong arm robbery are unfortunately too common.

When headed to the vehicle with a group, I just hit the button twice, don't even think about it anymore.

Do it how you wish, but thought some folks might like knowing why it's like it is.

Of course since many Tacoma owners envision themselves as Chuck Norris clones, I'm sure none of them will care about that little safety tidbit. :D

I believe his concern is that when he is going somewhere with people he would like all the doors to unlock when he touches the door handle. Rather then unlock the drivers door, open it then reach in and unlock the rest of the doors.
If he is worried about getting unwanted guests, he can use the key fob and hit the button once. Which will unlock only the drivers door.

Also on most car with power door locks, when you turn the key in the handle (those of you who still prefer to do things old school), 1 turn will unlock the door, 2 turns will unlock all doors.
