It's my favorite as an evening run. You get to see the sun setting from the top of the mountain and you can come back down after dusk. I usually get dinner in Eastlake and head over afterward

There's a few offshoots that I like to take that make for good photo spots, and those are easy with or without a locker. I'm 2wd locked so I wouldn't go anywhere that my truck can't access anyways

Welp, looks like the thread has been resurrected, so let's make a quick run, shall we?

    !!!Thread Revival/New Member Otay Run!!!

DATE AND TIME: Saturday, September 24th at 4:00PM

LOCATION: Wings 'n Things in Eastlake; 2315 Otay Lakes Rd

HAM RADIO: Channel will be determined once we're there, but if you have a radio, it doesn't hurt to bring it, handheld or otherwise!

We will grab some wings and head out from there. If you don't want to eat, then we will be hitting Otay Truck Trail at around 5:00PM, starting at Pio Pico RV park next to the convenience store, and heading up the mountain from there. This trail is 2wd friendly, both locked or open diff, and we may hit a couple off-shoots which are a little more difficult but are still easy. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!

If anyone is interested in a little cruise for the cause on Sunday the 25th in Chula Vista, there will be quite the turnout of Classics, Customs hot rods and lowriders. If it's got wheels and you're proud of it bring it on down.

If anyone was planning to go to the Otay meet this weekend, I'm afraid I won't be going since I forgot that Subiefest is this Saturday. If anyone would like to reschedule feel free to make a new date

Just moved to Otay Ranch from the east coast and took the Taco up the Otay truck trail to Doghouse twice this weekend. Great views and easily accessible. My wife leaves on deployment in October so I'll have no friends. Looking to meet up with anyone in the area to camp/drink/taco with in the future.
