@Kens04Taco Detroit makes a LSD "locker" (Detroit Trutrac LSD) for the 1st gen. I mean, it isn't a locker, but it gets very good reviews from what I have researched so far and that is the route I plan on taking. Just to give my shi**y input, LOL!!! :D:notsure:

Ask me a radio question and I can do a bit of a better job!!! Just be prepared to "READ a few lines", LMAO!!!:rofl::rofl:

Precisely. Its a crap design by Toyota to drop the exhaust like that. No matter how you design it. Without an exhaust re route you're losing clearance. Skid or no skid.

I'm going to lose 2 inches of clearance but at least it's flush clearance

I thought about the reroute but the truck is too new to start chopping and welding up shitty exhaust pipes.

What do you paint your skids with? I'm getting them bare steel. Primer first? Then what?

Self etching primer scuffs up the bare metal and gives a good foundation for paint to adhere to. You'd have to look at the self etching primer on the steel with a powerful microscope to see what I'm talking about but it's some great stuff to apply before paint. You don't need much. Just a transparent hue and you're good. Be sure to clean the steel with brake cleaner or isopropyl alcohol before you use the primer.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Super easy to get it rerouted. Should be in the top 10 mods guys first do... since most everyone has a shop chop the muffler off for their favorite flavor of please-make-it-sound-like-a-V8 :D

Rubbish! Chop that ugly pipe up. If you can justify a skid to protect the underbelly why not also remove such a silly piece?

Can't fix an issue? You're putting on skid plates.

[STRIKE]Hell if you do the reroute correctly the motor actually gets a good purr to it.[/STRIKE]

    Disregard. That's the 4L. I can't speak to the 3.5L's voice.

Did you ask here or hit up a muffler shop? I went to a local one in La Habra and told them what I wanted to do. About 30-40m later he had bent up some new pipe and welded it up for me. They also cut off my old muffler and welded on my Blackwidow.

I think I paid $75-$100 for the custom work and choppy work on the muffler. But that sounds high in my head.
