    Those things suck. You can scribble any old shit on there and it will go through. That's one reason chip cards are so important, but they still lack the additional "what you know." There should be an additional PIN along with the chip, because 2-factor authentication and validation requires, oh, I don't know, 2 FACTORS! Switching from swipe to chip isn't any more secure at all, it's a placebo.

    It really is too bad only about 5% of businesses in America are actually meeting full PCI (payment card industry) security standards, versus about 55% in the rest of the world.

    This shit don't happen in Germany. Just sayin'.

    You do realize that "Check ID" is now your legal signature as far as some banks are concerned? Check with your issuing bank to see what they want to ensure that you are protected. After getting burned in Italy with a card that I wrote "check id" onto I see things differently.
