I like the "old school" look of the Landcruiser emblem (P/N: 75311-90K00) so I bought one. I wasn't happy with the white/plastic look so I decided to try something a bit different. Using the plastic emblem as a template, I matched the font and size and had the letters waterjet cut from 1/4"-thick 5052 Aluminum. I bead-blasted them to get a uniform matte finish and then used a clearcoat to get back a little gloss and protect them.

Here's an sample of the letters so you can see that they are identical to the OEM emblem.

To mount them, I first used a paper template (I'll include it with each order) to space them properly. After positioning the letters I held them in place with masking tape.

Flipping the grill over, I used a fine-tip Sharpie to trace the mesh pattern on the back of the letters. Leaving the paper template in place, I removed the letters, drilled and then tapped #2-56 holes (about 3-4 per letter) in the mesh gaps. Using the paper template as a guide again, I positioned the letters again and secured with #2-56 screws, lock washer, and a couple washers to get the contact with the mesh just right.

As you can see, the mounting is very specific to the grill insert you are using so it has to be custom-fitted. A much easier option (that other have successfully used) is to mount them with heavy-duty 3M tape (like the kind for hanging mailboxes to brick walls). As always, I'm here to help if you have any questions about mounting!

    And mounted on the truck.

Now offering another option, courtesy of a custom order from @Tyler07:

It's a single-piece backing for these letters with about a 1/4" border around each letter (shown here in satin black powdercoat)

And a close-up shot. Same beadblasted and powdercoat color options available!

With each set, I'll also include a copy of the paper template I used to space the letters. The mounting option is up to you, this does not include any hardware or pre-drilled holes.

The individual letter sets and backing piece are each priced the same if you buy only one or the other.

    Raw aluminum - $40 shipped
    Bead-blasted finish - $50 shipped
    Powdercoated - $60 shipped
    Colors available:
    - Satin Black
    - High Gloss Black
    - White
    - Light Machine Gray
    - Dark Blue
    - Bright Red

If you order both at the same time I'll knock off $10 from the total. So, a set of letters and backing powdercoated would be $60 + $60 - $10 = $110.

The 3rd round ordering is now closed. Thanks guys!

    3rd round:
    1. @flyfisher4822 - satin black backing

Boulder, but I'm in Denver often. Pickup price will be about $5-$6 cheaper so not that significant. Which ones are you interested in?

The 2nd photo from the top is the letters (beadblasted finish) compared to the original emblem. They are 1/4" thick, 5052-Al. Let me know if you want a close-up photo.

Im interested in a set of these letters. Out of curiousity, is it easier to apply some sort of sticky tape to these on the grill? I was thinking that screwing them on might be easier, but maybe not?

I used screws and it was a little tricky to get the screws to line up with the mesh holes while keeping the letter spacing perfect. I think the double-sticky tape that Supra4x4 used looks great and should last with proper surface prep.

The basic steps that I took to mount them with screws was:

    1. Laid out the letters on the grill (based on the Land Cruiser emblem spacing) - I will provide this paper template
    2. Used tape to hold the letters in place then marked the mesh locations on the back of the letters
    3. Drilled and tapped #2-56 holes
    4. Used the paper template again to position the letters straight, secured them in place with screws and washers from behind the grill

Yeah I originally bought the Land Cruiser emblem but didn't like the plastic look or the black bar connecting the letters. I just ran a set of 5 at the waterjet to keep costs down by selling the rest. If there's enough interest I could definitely do another production run.

If I do that I'll pop my grill off to take pictures of my mounting method (screws) but that's totally up to you guys.

I'm happy to sell them to you as raw aluminum if you want to finish them yourselves. Or I can bead-blast them (which is what I did) to give them a smooth metallic finish. I also have limited powercoat colors available that I would do "made to order".

Sure can. I'll add you to the list of "interested" if I do another production run.
