Did you install the Skid Plate yourself or have it done at a shop? I'm thinking of doing it myself but don't want to mess anything up.
I'm handy with DIY but just want to know how others had it done.

    Thanks

I removed the chrome Toyota grill emblem and scuffed up the chrome finish with 320 grit W&D followed by a course scotch brirte pad until the entire surface had a nice smooth satin look to it, then I gave it 4 coats of Krylon Maxx satin black. It came out great and the satin black matches the color of the grill spot on.

Dang I didn't know the 2016's DIDNT have the power rear window!!! Not bragging but I ordered my Tacoma in April...didn't get it until mid August and it ended up being a 2017. So I guess I lucked out...I thought the power rear window was on the 2016's too..if it helps I did have to pay a little more for the 2017 vs 2016.

275's are a non-common tire size. Great if you are surrounded by lots of tire shops with inventory.

Not so great when you are in rural ass Montana and need a tire....

She got it made by one of her customers at work. I think he did mine for around $60 or so. Quality is good and paint is right around the same color as my Tacoma. Here is his FB page

How much of an increase is 17 over the 16? I know I can have a power rear slider put in for $925 plus tax so $1000.

It's really pretty easy so long as you take your time. The hardest part is getting the pre-installed bolts on the skid lined up with the holes. You have to remove a total of 4 bolts on the radiator support brackets, that are then replaced by bolts on the skid. The air damn must come off before install. Make sure you have a torque wrench. If you have any questions, just ask.

Funny because the increase was right about $1,000 - $1,500...I originally ordered a TRD OFFRD with no extras...no floor mats, no side steps and no bed cover.....they won..it came with all those things lol so that was part of the price increase and probably most of it. I wasn't going to wait or haggle any longer.

Mine was $500 difference in MSRP. I split it w/ them. If the truck I ordered/built came w/ all those add-ons I would have made the dealer eat all of it! That actually might have been a scam (all installed at dealer), and I'd be pissed about them drilling holes for the steps. But sadly I didn't get a power rear window, I ordered an access cab (I like the proportions better).

So overall if I really wanted it as an option and they would have offered it, it probably would have been about $1000 anyways, so I guess if I really want it I just have it installed now. Easier to swallow when on the installment loan!

Ya wasn't thrilled but the options were not dealer installed and they made it right. I didn't want to lose the manual tranny so I was pretty much ok whatever give me the truck I will take off and sell whatever I need to...
