Hello! I'm not a new member, but I am a new owner. I created this account a while back so I could find info about my Dad's truck (2003 Tacoma TRD) while I drove a 2003 Ranger.

As of yesterday I'm the new owner of a 2016 Tacoma SR 4wd.

I've already ordered cruise control and intermittent wiper!

I like the ride! The pool of great whites keeps growing around here. Let the modding begin!

I'm no stranger to mods. I owned and modified this money pit for 6 glorious years. Hopefully I don't go this overboard with the Tacoma!

It seems like you were familiar with mods. You say that now, but you know these Tacomas can get pretty demanding for new parts.

Right, I live right up the road from there. How do you like your 3rd gen after hearing all the complaints about it?

It's good. I didn't plan on buying a new truck, but my ranger needed more repairs than it was worth and this truck happened to show up at the right place at the right time.

It will tow my boat, gets good enough mpg, stick, and 4wd. Base model has more than enough amenities...except for cruise control. That's on the way though!

That's good to hear. One thing I cant stand is hearing the complaining of the new truck. I love my truck, yeah it has some flaws like anything else will too. You going to do anything to it?

So far just cruise control and intermittent wipers.

I'll add some all season mats, 4/7 pin trailer connector, window tint, keyless entry, and maybe a cap at some point. That's all pretty minor stuff. For now I'll just drive it and get used to it. So different than the Ranger.

Yeah very different truck. My dad had a 2001 ranger and that was the first truck I ever drove. Very different truck for sure!

Yeah this was my second Ranger. The first was my first vehicle. 93 2wd, power nothing, 4cyl 5 speed.

This Tacoma I bought is kind of ironic. I learned to drive stick on my dad's 96 Tacoma base model 4wd 5spd 4 cylinder and now I pretty much have the same thing just 20 years newer. Oh how far they've come....
